Photoshoot by @kathyjohnson in 2003. Almost looks like yesterday. This was 6 weeks out of the 2003 Canadian Nationals. The focus and desire has not dissipated as a matter of fact I want it more now than ever before! In someways the desire is so strong I literally feel sick... I attribute this to my realization that at my age I really don’t have a lot of years left to be competitor in the group I wish. Sure I can do master till I’m dead and with all due respect, for me I’d feel that if I’m 60 and competing, I would be in essence maintaining my physique rather than challenging it to grow substantially. I have all the respect for those 60+ guys doing their best and their physiques look great... but damn it I still want to stand on stage with the pros and do a show. I want to see my legs bigger, arms bigger, everything better and way more conditioned. Maybe it’s crazy, delusional and unrealistic however as long as I believe this way of thinking who can say it’s wrong. I need to live my life as smart or crazy as I want (within reason.. my health can’t suffer and I draw the line at reckless) for it is the only life I have. There is plenty of time to reflect on what I did when I’m floating in space or nourishing the soil. This goes to everyone who has a dream .. who gives a shit what dream it is. #throwback to #2008 and 2 weeks before the #cbbf Nationals. One of my leanest conditions. Certainly top 3. I think if I can master the conditioning for the exact day of the show I’ll finally realize my goals completely.
