I just love my "wtf-face" and "realy-bitch? Realy?-face" in pic 2 & 3 xD 🤷♀️ @hagen.photographer . Once again an insight into the fightinghour at durmstrang 🤺 . Here you can see the hardworking students learn how to hold a magic wand correctly and the basics of dueling.🤼♀️ Anouk is obviously not impressed by the show. . She has therefore promptly stretched the bow incorrectly, which made sure that Uhr teacher dies a little bit inside 🙈😵🤦♀️ But shooting - she can. . . #master #teacher #teachinglesson #arrow #arrowandbow #bow #shooting #medival #20thcentury #durmstrang #durmstranginstitute #school #schooluniform #teaching #harrypotter #harrypotterlarp #magic #rauhnächte #rauhnächtelarp #winterburg #harrypotterworld #wand #magicwand #schoolofwitchery #witcher #ciri #whitehair #grannyhair #badhairday #winterland https://www.instagram.com/p/CBvfI8gHJt1/?igshid=11u3rhc1cuhl4

Class began with a warm greeting. I greeted each student as they arrived, and handed each student a 3x5 set of signal cards. When the class settled I began with an ice-breaker discussion about how the students’ weekends were. Then I transitioned from the icebreaker to the signal card pre assessment activity. I used the signal cards to get an idea of what everyone had retained from the previous lesson. With the help of my projector and PowerPoint Presentation, I displayed questions about literary devices and said, "Red will signify disagree, Green agree, and Yellow neutral. The Questions is--Situational irony is when actions are opposite of what was intended." I then took mental note of how many students are grasping what we had learned the previous day.
This activity would be best in pairs so that students can compare ideas before publicly showing their opinions. This will accommodate students who are more introverted and easily embarrassed if they have the wrong answer. As a preventative instructional strategy, I would predetermine pairs for various activities like Think-Pair-Share. I would do this by observing which students are high achieving, average, and lower performing and try to match students I think would be compatible. Then students would know to pair up with their buddy. This would make Signal cards way more effective, interactive, and engaging.
