I think the reason Durmstrang expelled Gellert was because he got into a violent fight which nearly killed a student. I think it would fit really well with Gellert’s anger issues that what expelled him was an unplanned act of anger and not experiments. Anger had always been what ruined Gellert’s life.

the durmstrang stuff is so interesting to me. where the fuck is there school??? what are their views on grindelwald? were they being taught stuff inside their ship on the black lake during the '94 session? how? what did they think of krum, under the whole he'd-the-best-seeker-in-europe thing? did they dislike beauxbaton? what did they think of harry potter?
