Looking for blog recommendations!
I don’t usually make these kind of posts, but what the hey.
As I mentioned a while back, I decided to write a modern day, real-life witches novel to help me warm up out of my winter writing hibernation, and one of the characters is a kitchen witch.
I haven’t done any kitchen witching for close on ten years, so my skills and memories are a bit rusty. I’ve made a separate tumblr for the project with a side blog for the character (what can I say, I was one of those people with a highly tabulated filing cabinet in the ‘90s, I like to keep my information in its little sections!) and I’m trying to gather some kitchen witch information over there for research, and to give Heather the Kitchen Witch another facet to her personality as I write her into the story.
Anyway, what I wanted to know is - who are your most recommended kitchen witches on tumblr? Who has the best information, the loveliest posts, the most accurate ingredients correspondence lists you’ve ever seen? Who makes you smile every time their user name pops up on your dash? Whose house would you love to be invited round to for a cuppa at the kitchen table? Who has a kitchen witch business you have bought or would absolutely love to buy from?
I’ve searched the kitchen witchcraft tags and have found some good blogs and posts, but sorting the wheat from the chaff in tumblr search can be about as much fun as being in a traditional chaff-hole. And a glowing recommendation is always worth checking out!
PS - related branches of witchcraft such as hearth, home, tea, herb, and cottage are also good! I believe in saturation research.
If you don't have a tea diffuser, or you want to read tea leaves without the risk of drinking them with your tea, use a coffee filter trapped between the rim of your cup and a lid or other holder to brew your loose leaf tea and collect your tea leaves for easy reading.

So I'm experimenting with making this Sleepytime tea latte using milk instead of water. I've got ideas based on a Pinterest recipe I found. I'm embellishing it. Whatever I create that ends up being a hit, I'll write down and put in a recipe book. I love how many ways there are to do something. I might get some almond and coconut milk to experiment with too!

“How in the fuck do you drink herbal tea?” - a rant
Okay, my peeps! I’m a tea person. I love tea. But throughout my whole pagan/spiritual journey, I’ve never been able to incorporate tea into my witchcraft/manifestations when it came to specific herbs. I can drink tea ritually when it’s normal tea, but when trying to add in herbs, it just tastes SO HORRIBLE. I tried adding both honey AND sugar, and nothing makes it tastes drinkable. And this sucks because I believe in the power of tea so hardcore and herbs, but I can’t seem to bring myself past the taste of most teas with added herbs. My preference of tea usually includes A LOT of sugar, so any tips on drinking herbal teas (homemade...storebought herbal teas are usually fine) with leisure? For example, honeycoyote’s productivi-tea recipe is the most tolerable one I’ve tried and I STILL can’t force myself to drink it because the basil and rosemary, but I believe so deeply that those herbs help the purpose of the tea.
Witch Tip
If you drink a lot of tea, 1, reuse the tea bag. 2, after reusing the tea bag, save the grounds as a plant fertilizer or as an offering to a plant spirit!
Midnight is the time when I share a warm mug of steaming hibiscus flower and pomegranate tea with the spirits of the house and earth. The goddess prefers milk and a touch of sugar, while the lonely ghosts are glad just to be listened to. We like to discuss the weather and the peace of the pattering rains.
