Big thanks to @kowroo for drawing these commissions! The first one features Hogarth Hughes and his twin brother, Heath Hughes (my OC). The second one features Benjamin Friedman, a canon character from the movie "Eight Crazy Nights" by Adam Sandler (the kid Davey and Whitey plays basketball with in the movie). And last but not least, the final one features Gerry McDonald (my OC and sister of Sam McDonald, a canon character from the movie "Ginger Snaps").

Kent Mansley was, usually, an observant man. He had to be in his line of work. He’d always paid close attention to every detail and stayed fully aware of what’s around him. But now, as he sat in the back of an ambulance after suffering some car trouble, he couldn’t help but get lost in his own mind.

He completely blocked out everything that was happening around him.

He didn’t take in the flashing red-and-blue lights from the surrounding patrol cars. He didn’t pay attention to the policemen hurrying about the area. He didn’t even notice the female EMT cleaning the cut on his forehead. Under normal circumstances, he would’ve been flirting with her, unabashedly complimenting her deliciously curvy physique.

But these weren’t normal circumstances. 

As the medic worked on his injury, he looked over to where his car was. It was sitting a good ways away from the ambulance, parked haphazardly in the middle of the road. The car was in good condition, all things considered — except for the medium-sized dent in the front bumper and the shattered windshield. And the broken headlight and the damaged hood. And the blood and bits of flesh that could be seen sticking to the tires, leaving behind a crimson trail.

Lying several feet away behind the car was the source of the carnage… or what was left of it. It was covered in a white sheet, splotches of blood soaking the fabric. A few crime scene investigators stood close by as they took pictures and kept record of what they were seeing. One of its hands was exposed from under the sheet. What was once a normal hand, masculine and pale-skinned, was now a mangled mess of flesh and bone.

Kent quickly averted his gaze, the gruesome sight making his stomach turn.

You know, I didn't realize until this very moment that I named Benny's friend Adam and in the movie, Davey is played by Adam Sandler. How did I not realize that until now??? My brain will never stop amazing me. 😅

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy the story! Chapter 2 is nearly finished and I'm working hard to make sure the audio version is the best it can be. I'll be posting updates to the story on its blog, @tdadtwch so be sure to keep an eye out.
