#Tavember; Day 1 Birth - Meidhreach
[Bringing over my Tavember posts from bluesky, originally hosted by renmasaoankoku!]
Meidhreach was born at the peak of summer, a rare day in Cíonn with no rain and bright warm sun. The second born twin, following an hour after his brother. While the first born screamed the room down, Meidhreach was weak and wheezing, most assuming he would not survive the night.
As the heir, his brother was taken and cared for by a team of midwives and nurses while Meidhreach was left with his mother; the queen holding onto her weaker son with the hope and wish that he would survive. Many doubted that he would, but she never did. Upon the next rainy day, as per the custom of Ó hAllmhuráin de Cíonn family, his eldest was given his name but Meidhreach was left nameless under the assumption that it would not matter and he would merely fade away to history. As time went on and the summer faded, the autumn storms arrived, the babe seemed to improve.
With the clasp of thunder, the babies cries grew stronger and by the end of the winter, he was healthy enough that fears were soon vanquished. Due to Meidhreach's difficult start in life, as well as his mother being unable to spend much time with her eldest while he was being prepared for his role as heir. The two were close, Meidhreach was never seen too far away from his mother, sometimes a little over protective of one of the few things she had in life that brought her joy. She read to him and told him of the stars, and the flowers, her little light, difficult, yes but very much her joy.
Upon the following spring, Meidhreach was officially given his name; named for the early purple orchid, one of the first flowers to sprout after winter. Named within a summer storms, the fussing and the crying of the babe always seeming to be soothed by the raging waves of the ocean outside.
His brother earned the title of The Summer Prince, with the preparation that when he took the throne, he would become The Summer King, for the day for which he was born. While Meidhreach was known as The Spring Prince, for the time that he survived; more delicate and less intense than the summer.
