hello! this message is so lovely iâve been sitting on it for three days, trying to make sure my answer will do it justice
the theme was borne from my being a taurus and joking around with stefan @teamcaptains that i was to be a sacrificial bull and then i was like... hang on a second, thatâs pretty good. iâm pretty inspired by what i study or what i read, and studying classics, itâs impossible to miss the prominence of the bull in mythology and classical society. like itâs fascinating that the minoan people used to compete in a ritualistic bull-jumping and how thousands of years have passed and bull-fighting still occurs in contemporary society.Â
so then i did a lot of research and basically drew inspiration from examples in history and mythology i came across. the âUNWRITTEN MYTHOLOGYâ poems are the most obvious references, with pt 1 being about io and zeusâ coupling, and pt 2 being about ariadne, and the connection between girls and bulls w/ a sort of examination of gender at the same time. each poem corresponds to something specific but always always always focuses on the bull.Â
GIRL is born as GIRL. her brother is born as BULL. every day, the BROTHER wishes himself HUMAN and the girl wishes herself BEAST. not a COW but a BULL. something powerful, with feet heavy enough to trample GODS.
