I’d say spite is definitely related to wrath, but I feel like wrath is more a state of mind, while spite tends to imply some action taken against someone due to a state of mind.

Yeah, I never really liked the ending of 03. It just felt sudden and off. Also the way the ending loresplains alchemy being powered by the alternate universe just raises more questions than answers. Like people dying over here on Earth power alchemy over in Amestris? So all alchemy is using soul power? What is special about a philospher's stone?

Whether he personally wrecks it or not, the implication is his entry coincides with its end. The cruxtruder signifies how long until you enter your session, and his says ~U. ~ is a NOT operator in several programming languages, and I believe the ~ATH language also uses it to signify universe deaths. So it follows that Caliborn enters the session when his universe is NOT - when it dies.
I guess you could also interpret it as once he is in the session he is not in his universe, and it qualifies, but the first seems more likely considering Caliborn’s whole career of destruction.
