- literally no internet anywhere

- Lots of local bookstores that are either gold mines for classics or have exclusively farmer romance novels by local authors

- Tiny roads that should be one way only but you have to squeeze two down them

- Lots of fields everywhere and animals (read smells)

- A surprising amount of bikers for all the hills there are

- Very pretty houses in the middle of nowhere that you get to see just the top of or have been swallowed by nature

- Cobblestone walls and bridges everywhere

- Dogs everywhere, most of them in some form of drying off from middle puddles

- Muddy puddles everywhere

- No footpaths. Just walk on the roads

- Churches. So. Many. Churches

- People wearing shorts and rain coats eating ice cream

- Really pretty sights that vanish immediately behind trees and leave you wondering if it ever really existed and longing to go back to that very brief moment
