scrolling through social media posts in my target languages counts as reading practice right?
today i finished up the chapter of my french workbook sur Ā«Ā le nom et lāadjectif qualitatifĀ Ā» et maintenant je suis au chapitre 2 Ā«Ā les articlesĀ Ā».
i read a tumblr post a while ago on how writing is one of the best things you can do to learn a language so iām trying out that theory. it does make sense because my hand needs to get used to writing in french and, for example, knowing to write a āleā instead of a ālaā in front of gĆ¢teau.
for tagalog, i learned about measurements and to be fair, i wasnāt super into it because like ??? i donāt even talk about measurements on a daily basis in english. also, i donāt really remember how to do measurements in french.
to learn tagalog, iām following a podcast called Go Filipino and i havenāt yet learned how to form full sentences, but the speaker, qui sāappelle Kris, says that he wants for the listener to be able to understand the foundation of the language first, and i respect that. i feel that within language learning. language learning is different for everyone, and there is no #1 perfect way of learning a language. itās REALLY easy to get ahead of yourself in language learning and then get really frustrated when you donāt understand B1 content when youāre at a A1 level. i feel like this applies to everything in life. like, donāt get ahead of yourself because it kind of just ends in disappointment most of the time.

š«š· french: i love how the language makes me feel about myself when i speak it. i feel badass, pretentious, just all around cool
š·šŗ russian: by far the way it sounds!! the way the consonants and vowels sound together and mix make my ears happy
(insert flag of the arab league) arabic: i havenāt technically started studying this language yet but so far the coolest thing thatās arose is the history and culture behind the language and the people who speak it

The goal of this form is to get to know music from all around the world. Hopefully we can get at least one song for every country in the world! - You can submit any song/music that you want as long as you know where it comes from. - You can submit as many songs as you want. - You can also submit songs from a particular region of your country. Here are some examples: La vie en rose - Edith Piaf (France) Dle Yaman - Komitas (Armenia) .... I will publish a list of the results in a few weeks :)

What languages have you been focusing on lately?
Mostly French and Greek, but also Trigedasleng and my own conlang Ćtchgƶ. (: (The Greek is on the down-low though - my family doesnāt know Iām taking private lessons, so the next time weāre all in Greece together ā¦ .Ā >;) ā¦)
