Long time it was since Eriu let herself look for new apprentices. Mainly because Joel and Hel were all she could wish for in the last twenty years. Strong, independent, with problems that action and training easily solved, blondes were the best apprentices she had in the last fifty or sixty years. But since Dorian has failed her, and his sister, Viviane, disappeared, Eriu couldn’t count for a good telepath to work with. Hel… Well, that was the thing about Hel. Girl was by her side for most of the time, but lately was giving herself far too many days off. Eriu couldn’t count on her when it came to tracking Gabriel down, or even looking for Viviane. All she seemed to be interested in was playing around with minds of simple peasants and cheating Dorian into thinking she switched sides.
Eriu had enough of it. Never had her on her side when she needed her most.
Too bad that the coordinates she sent to that Banner girl didn't lead to her new telepath material. The house in front of which she parked her car belonged to an old couple whose children must have moved out decades ago. And they were upstairs, probably watching some cheap movies, Eriu guessed by the shifting of the lights on the window.
She waited.
