Tamiya, Inc, announced that their chairman Shunsaku Tamiya has died at age 90. Tamiya has long been a leading producer of plastic model kits and hobby supplies, and their 1:48 military models are popular with wargamers.
Aw man, may he rest in peace.
The best model kit I ever had was a Tamiya T-72, it looked so good out of the box I never needed to paint it, I just added the decals, and while it was eventually damaged beyond repair during a house move, I still fondly remember it, especially compared to the garbage I kept buying from Revell, the main model kit brand I could find in Colombia.

My piece for the Virtualization! a Code: Lyoko Fanzine @codelyokozine ✨
Code lyoko will always have a special place in my heart, from the moments alone watching it as a kid to the friends I made as I got older. I love everything about this show and I’m so glad there’s a zine dedicated to it <3 here’s hoping for more zines in the future 🍀

Finish stuff Friday! I had tried to get this one done by the end of 2025 with the other Mustangs, but it wasn't in the cards. This is the Tamiya 1/48 P-51, which is a dream to build. I had used aftermarket decals, but I don't remember from whom. This is my 5th time building a 375th group Mustang. Have 3 of them still. Lou IV I built in 2005. Detroit Miss last year, and Ferocious Frankie I finished last month. I think on Detroit Miss I've figured out how to do the silver paint on the Mustang wings. I did it with a base coat of grey, with a thin silver brush over top. That differentiates between silver paint as metal vs paint. Happy with the results here, I tried to replicate painted over invasion stripes on the upper wings. Enough Mustangs for a while.
