Tailing and values
I continue to look at the brand marketing campaigns, and today I want to talk a bit about Tailing.
Tailing occupies a very specific place in Wang Yibo’s brand portfolio. It aligns with the government’s climate change policy (...and he must have been interacting with scientists and activists in this area both for the UN Climate Change conference last year, where he was a China Youth representatives, and for the glacier research), and with his interest and knowledge of vehicles, physics, and engineering (...which makes motorbike and car racing possible). Tailing in its marketing campaign has emphasized fan community mutual education, and also offline fun community events (“crazy rides”).
I think it aligns so much with some of Wang Yibo’s values. Caring for the nature. Lifelong learning. Openness to new experience. Willingness to take on challenges. Love and ability to understand science and apply it. Having fun with people who share your interests.
When Natasha first meets people she tails them for a little while to see how they act when they think no ones around (she also does this when she’s bored) and she’s successful with everyone except for Peter because of his Spidey sense, but Peter let’s her trail him because he knows it makes her feels safe until one day like a week in he’s walking in the park and he sees the most adorable dog and out of no where just goes “Nat, Nat look how cute this little pupper is” and she just stands there stunned for like a solid minute before just turning around and walking away. Now everytime she’s board she’ll specifically try to tail Peter and every time he lets her think she got away with it for a couple hours until just making some random comment addressing her.
DM: Damaris heads into the Court of the Rat King. Sybil Hatman grins creepily when he sees her.
Billie (gnome ardent): I want to punch him.
DM: He leads her to one of the sewer grates and pulls it aside. He beckons her in. What do you do?
Hanako (kitsune bard): I wait to see if they stay in sight or look like they’re going to disappear.
DM: They stay in sight, just beyond the light.
Hanako: We find a stall near the grate to browse at.
DM: With your passive Perception and the fact that Sybil doesn’t even keep his voice down, you can hear every word they say.
