April 5, 2021:
this day is considered Taekook day by the fandom, as it’s the day Tae and Jungkook coined their “ship” name. Tae, Yoongi and Hobi go on vlive together. Hobi reads out “Oh Taekook! Okay!”in the comments section.

Originally the subs of the vlive had Hobi’s intent behind the word Taekook as Thailand (Taeguk, or Taegug, in Korean is 태국. One writer, who is studying Korean, believes the more common romanization is taeguk. Theㄱ sounds between a g/k so it sort of switches (e.g. maknae versus magnae).
The writers just want to point out that originally the subs said Thailand, and then they switched to Taekook. Also note, in the Korean subs ‘taekook’ is spelled out in English like their ‘ship’ name, not the Korean or romanization Thailand (taeguk or taegug). Speculation is possible here, but the writers don’t want to delve too much into it as we can not be sure what comments ARMY sent in (though a few have said they saw “Taekook” spamming the chat) and what the members were reading. We have included screenshots so the readers can decide for themselves. Do keep in mind no other country was given a specific shoutout, and besides an “hola” following this comment, the three continued discussing various topics related to their smoothie making and general life updates. We will leave it at that and let the readers determine for themselves.
Interestingly, within a day of subtitles being released, the subtitle was corrected from Thailand to Taekook.
