renjun “i met taehee noona the same time i met mark hyung in the cafeteria. right after hyung told me i looked older than i was, i saw noona punch him lightly on the shoulder like she was scolding him (laughs). then she offered me to have lunch with them and was really friendly. from then on, i thought she was a reliable person even if i didn’t know her well at the time. (he grins) and i was right.”

jeno “taehee noona….noona was introduced to me by mark hyung. she was wearing an oversized band shirt and dark sweatpants, like she just came from practice. she looked really cool! honestly, i’ve heard about her from the other trainees about how she’s so good at dancing and rapping — singing, too. so in my mind, i was like, ‘ah, so this is the legend they’re talking about’ (laughs). despite all that, she’s still down to earth. that’s one of the things i like about her.”

haechan (he answers right away, giggling) “taehee noona and i did not get along well at first, you guys probably knew that already. i vaguely remember how we first met actually, but i just remember how her reactions were so funny whenever i teased her. i’m grateful that she doesn’t take them to heart, she teased me back so it was fun. noona is really easy to get along with. it’s never a dull moment with her.”

jaemin “noona was mark hyung’s friend — that was all i thought of her back then. there was this one time she bought ice cream for her friends, and even if we weren’t close, she thought of me and saved one for me. she actually fought haechanie for the choco ice cream before offering me a strawberry flavored one. but then jeno told her i didn’t like the taste of artificial strawberry, so in an instant, she took the strawberry ice cream and gave her choco one to me. i was really surprised, i didn’t think she’d do that. but noona has a warm heart. (did you enjoy your ice cream?) of course, i did! besides it not being strawberry (chuckles), it was from taehee noona so i enjoyed it very much!”

chenle “i wasn’t that good in speaking korean at the time, so i didn’t talk that much. i can’t remember how taehee noona knew about it, but she was really understanding and talked to me in english sometimes. even if she was a foreigner herself, she tried to help me with my korean and treated me to convenience store food (laughs). so now, i pay her back by treating her to nice restaurants. she’s cool!” (he does a thumbs up as a sign of approval)

2. she sure loves to challenge herself

“you should let taehee do aegyo,” the dreamies have been known to pit their leader to act cute during lives, saying it was the fans who have requested him to do so, but mark may have found a way to get out this time, “she kept doing it the other day.” 

taehee’s brows furrow at the accusation, “i did not!” 

“you did! you kept going like, ‘taehee is hungry.’, ‘taehee wants taeyong hyung to do this.’, ‘doyoung hyung told taehee..’ blah blah blah,” he answers back, and chenle starts to giggle at their bickering, “you do aegyo, you were doing it!” 

“i was challenging myself!” she defended. 

“to do aegyo?” 

“no, to speak in third person!” she puts a hand to her chest as the others start cracking up, “and ‘taehee is hungry,’ i did not talk in a cute way! i talked normally!” she grits her teeth at mark in annoyance causing their laughs to grow louder, their eldest apologizing in between wheezes. if there really is anyone in the world who hated aegyo, it would be her. 

3. remember when taehee would tell renjun she could see ghosts? so umm ……

“ah but do you know the other day,” jungwoo puts his chopsticks down as he begins his story, “i got up to drink a glass of water. i think it was around three in the morning that time?” 

“oooo,” taeil hums excitedly, “is this a scary story?”

“i closed the door to our room and suddenly heard like someone mumbling in the living room,” his eyes widen as he recalls his feelings from that night, “i was so scared.” 

“i took a peek around the corner and it was taehee, but her hair was like, in front of her face,” jungwoo continues, “then she kept walking like in circles mumbling something. i still got water despite that, but as i was drinking, she’d suddenly stop .... and continue walking again.” he lets out a sigh from his mouth as the other members start snickering, “it was really creepy.” 

“you know her,” jaehyun says softly, smiling as he continued picking at his food, “she just might be tired or something ... or practicing.” 

yuta chuckles, “maybe she was practicing rap.” this causes another chorus of laughter to emit from the three except jungwoo, who was still terrified of what he saw the other night, “right, it could be that....” 

4. the lengths they’d go to

“there’s a funny episode that happened the other day,” haechan giggles, a wide smile spreading on his cheeks as he talked with czennies, “this was with taehee noona.”

“i wanted to play games with her, like league (of legends) on the computer, but she said she was lazy, so i was like, ‘noona, please,” he says cutely with his lips forming into a subtle pout, “but she really didn’t want to. i even went to go to their dorms to convince her, but then literally twenty minutes later...” 

“twenty minutes, guys,” he taps an imaginary watch on his wrist, “i hear her outside my room hanging out with johnny hyung and doyoung hyung! i got sulky, i didn’t even come out.”

“the next day, she comes back, looking for her charger that she left the previous day. when she asked me if i knew where it was, i sorta gave myself away,” the corner of his lips twitch into a smile, “i said, ‘how would i know? i was just playing the games we could’ve played together if you weren’t ‘lazy’,’ and she knew just from how i said it that i...” haechan chuckles, “hid her charger.” 

“she left after telling me to give it back— which i obviously did not do. i also had something to do that day, so i left the dorms, but when i came back, my mouse and keyboard were gone!” a disbelieving laugh comes out of him after, and he sees how the comments were filled with how funny their dynamic was. 

“i immediately went to their dorms, even mark hyung knew why i was there,” he continues, “and for like five days, noona didn’t have her charger and i didn’t have my mouse and my keyboard.”

“but you know, we’re like that. friends do that,” haechan nods, smiling as he looks down on the floor, “we eventually called a truce and got our things back. we even played league after that so everyone’s happy.”

mark later shares in another vlive that taehee had actually kept haechan’s stuff in random places every day, even going as far as hiding his mouse in one of their pillowcases to make sure he never finds it when he visits. 

5. the last one because it’s late already and i think i should get some sleep like this dude

“but why were you microwaving a glass of ice the other day?” mark asks beside taehee, the corner of his lips quirking into an amused smirk. 

while jungwoo starts cracking up from her other side, the girl in between them shakes her head as she tries to explain herself. “i was meant to put my jug in the refrigerator,” she tells them, “but i must’ve mistakenly put it in the freezer—”

“how come did you not know—”

“i was tired,” taehee laughs, looking back at the live, “that’s normal, right? you get tired, you do some clumsy things like that— whatever. anyways, i wanted to drink water so i microwaved it.” 

“you could’ve just gotten yourself a new glass,” jungwoo throws at her, raising his brows questioningly at her antics. “no, but i wanted it warm,” she mumbles. 

“then get from the dispenser!” mark starts laughing loudly, his body shaking as jungwoo and taehee held eye contact for what seems a minute. both were stunned. 

first floor. living room.

— taehee sees herself doing lives in this area, sitting on the foot of the couch while she talked animatedly to the fans about anything.

— she could literally fall asleep on the couch whenever she came home tired (did that once before actually moving in).

— she likes how the sunlight comes in and how the curtains make the room look warm.

— there is a powder room along the hallway leading to the kitchen.

— taehee really loves the cupboards, shelves, secret pantry — literally anything that serves as a storage.

— it has a table for six right in front of the island, but because of taehee’s schedule, she and jiyeon (her manager) would just have quick meals on the island, eating leftovers or take out from the previous night. 

second floor. jiyeon’s room.

— the door to her manager’s room is the first thing you’ll see once you’re up the stairs !!! it has a built-in bathroom, but it’s slightly smaller than taehee’s.

— it had a bigger bed before, but jiyeon wanted to fix the room according to her own style. she placed a study desk somewhere there too.

— taehee’s room is right next door!

— everything in this room was all built-in. all taehee had to do was organize her things into their respective storage.

— sometimes she’d wake up minutes before dawn, and when she couldn’t fall back asleep, she’d sit down on the floor by the windows and watch the peeking sunrise with chubs (who has her own little bed too!).

— it’s right in front of her bed.

— she found the closet so cool. at first she thought it was a simple wall, but after noticing the handle and pulling it to the side, she became very amazed at discovering the shelves hiding behind it.

— she puts her nintendo switch and box full of little gifts from the members and her other friends here !!!

— taehee also takes a bunch of mirror selfies so taeheezens better prepare themselves for an influx of updates from her some time. 

— it’s against the wall nearest to the bathroom.

— taehee’s thinking of putting a speaker somewhere so she can dance and sing in the shower.

*the guitar is supposed to be an acoustic guitar.

— there’s a free space by the end of the hall next to taehee’s room, and so she had decided to make this some sort of leisure area!

— she had three beanbags placed on one side, and in the center of the room was a pool table (when you flip it, it becomes a ping pong table).

— taehee finally bought a record player and placed it in the corner next to the window. all she needs now is to buy her own collection of vinyls to play. 

— she brought one of her guitars home so the members could play it if they wanted.

— there are sliding doors leading to a small balcony outside. she placed a stool table there for whatever purpose (drinks, snacks, etc.).

ME: hi !!! yeah, we are (laughs). you’re so pretty!

TH: (she squints at the camera playfully) you’re prettier !!! (laughs) how are you?

ME: i’m great! you?

TH: i’m doing great too! (chuckles) it’s so nice to meet all of you! i feel stoked right now.

ME: taehee, when all of this is over, come to australia!

TH: (surprised) oh, you’re from australia? (i nod) that’s sick!

ME: yeah! i’m from sydney!

TH: oh sydney! how’s it going in sydney?

ME: (chuckles) we’re doing alright! we’re staying safe and stuff. it’s winter season already!

TH: (surprised) winter season, right! do you have any plans?

ME: i’m actually a part of our school’s dance team and stuff (taehee nods as she listens) so we still try to uhh compete despite the circumstances, you know?

TH: ahh

ME: we’re preparing for one, actually.

TH: ohh !! so it’s like (she gestures as if she were drawing an invisible circle in the air) for the whole school?

ME: yeah! we compete with other schools.

TH: aw that’s cool !!! but how does that like, work though? don’t you have to go visit other schools usually?

ME: yes, but now we just basically film ourselves and then edit them later.

TH: ohh (pouts) but isn’t that more difficult though? ‘cause you’re all like, separated?

ME: it is difficult than we would have preferred rather, like face to face, but we try and (giggles) do our best (laughs).

TH: (laughs along too) well, i’ll be cheering for you!

ME: (grins) thank you!

TH: i wish you guys good luck! (writes something on the album)

ME: umm i just wanted to ask...

TH: go ahead!

ME: i’m actually the absolute worst at rock, paper, scissors (taehee laughs), and i was wondering if i can play one round with you.

TH: sure! i’m not too good at it either (giggles).

ME: to make things more interesting, if i win, i would want you to sing.. a taylor swift song that reminds you of anyone from dream—

TH: oooo

ME: but if you win, you can decide my punishment.

TH: (chuckles while pointing to herself) i can decide your punishment? (i nod)

TH: mmm.... since it’s haechan’s birthday, you could post a dance cover of his part in—

ME: oh my gosh

TH: —boom..? and tag nct dream! (laughs) would that be alright with you?

ME: sure, yeah! would you be able to find me though? (giggles)

TH: i promise, i’ll try my best to! (she motions to the camera) i memorized your pretty face already, don’t worry.

ME: okay (laughs), would you want to start?

TH: okay! (she raises her fist as she readies herself)

ME: rock, paper, scissors! (taehee throws paper while i throw scissors)

TH: (gasps) oh nooo (we both laugh) (the timer goes off and the staff tells us to wrap up the call)

TH: wait, hold on (grinning). i’ll sing this one song and we end from here, okay?

ME: yup!

TH: mmm.... okay, this is for jeno. and it’s new, the shape of your body. it’s blue, the feeling i’ve got and it’s ooh, woah oh, it’s a cruel summer. it’s cool, that’s what i tell ‘em. no rules in breakable heaven, but ooh, woah oh. it’s a cruel summer, with you.

ME: i really love your singing voice, that was great! thank you!

TH: thank you to you too! it was so nice meeting you! i’ll try to go home to australia soon (she pouts).

ME: we’ll be waiting! thank you so much, taehee! (i wave)

TH: thank you! (she blows a kiss to the camera) be safe and keep warm! bye !!!

another episode of taehee making her friends fall for her !!!

jk yeonjun’s feelings for taehee were very very tiny before wooyoung introduced them to each other.

at first, he just thought that she was so cool and charismatic on stage (kind of like a celebrity crush at first).

but now that they’re friends, he really tries to ignore the way his heart races whenever taehee would laugh or tell one of her poorly constructed pick-up lines.

“you can do better than that,” he’d say, then would end up regretting it later because taehee actually does better than that and it sends his heart in a frenzy.

cue wooyoung’s, “okay, you two better stop that or i might actually vomit.”

takes pride in getting taehee into tiktok ,,, keeps their videos together in his favorites

heejin from yyxy

heejin had a crush on taehee from when they were still trainees.

she wasn’t sure of her sexuality yet but she definitely knew she had feelings for the older member.

she was close to taehee but in terms with her crush on her, she’s the type to ‘admire from afar’.

never told anyone !! not even some of the ex-loona members. she was really great at hiding it.

out of all the ex-loona members, she was the last to leave sm, conflicted whether or not she’d go. she didn’t want to leave taehee alone.

ironically, taehee was also the one who encouraged her to leave. she promised heejin that she’d support her dreams no matter where she is, and that she’s always got her back.

she was so proud of taehee when she debuted !!! sent a congratulatory message to her a few days after her debut.

taehee invited heejin (and the rest of the yyxy members, who were also a part of loona) to a meal in celebration of their debut.

heejin’s crush faded over time because of their schedules (they didn’t get to see each other often already) but still, taehee never fails to make her smile when she catches a glimpse of her onscreen.

sunwoo from the boyz

he tries to convince himself that taehee’s just a celebrity crush and nothing more.

but with the way the members (especially eric) keep teasing him about it, the more his mind drifts off to what it could be like if he was in a relationship with her.

when he knew she was gonna guest as a special emcee for weekly idol, he knew he was done for.

he didn’t know if he was nervous at the fact he was going to be in the same vicinity as taehee or if the members might accidentally expose him in front of the whole studio.

was elated when they became good friends and exchanged numbers (and the rest of the maknae line but that didn’t matter to him lol).

sunwoo would sometimes think about her when writing songs then he’d shake his head out of it once he realizes what he was doing.

changmin just innocently reminds him of his growing crush on taehee from time to time while chanhee and eric do it on purpose to tease him.

junkyu from treasure

stumbled upon taehee’s ‘go’ fancam, marking the start of the never-ending binge of taehee content.

she’s a celebrity crush at most.

would hide his smile with a pout when the members catch him watching another one of taehee’s fancams and tease him about it.

secretly stays up to date with nct content, especially the ones with taehee.

2016 she got hate from the media since she was the only girl in the group. some of them even had to beg sm to not debut her since she’ll “ruin the image of boy groups”. she managed to pull off 7th sense, firetruck, and chewing gum all in the same year which caused the ruckus to die down, but that doesn’t mean that they’ve completely stopped.

2017 people started wondering how taehee got into the company, even more so into the group. they started saying inappropriate things about her and spread baseless rumors (stuff like she paid them, she had special relationships, did those kinds of stuff, etc.). taehee then got super nervous before performing in music shows or award shows. fans noticed how she’s really clammy with her hands, how she tries to calm herself down with her breaths, or how she tightly held onto a member’s arm in fear that she’d break down any moment. her eyes were literally shaking :( it had gotten so bad to the point that the company announced that they will take legal actions against anyone who tried to defame her or the group, including a part that explained how she got into the company and how the decision to put her in nct was made.

an issue about favoritism came up later in the year but taehee never knew about it. apart from the fact that it was short-lived, she tried to stay away from social media at that time as much as possible. she couldn’t bring herself to be okay knowing the things they said about her online, so just to avoid all that negativity, she stayed away from it.

2018 taehee seemed to be doing better than in the previous year, but then a news publisher released an article about the possibility of her dating an exo member which brought a lot of attention to other media outlets. nctzens and exols went by lengths to bring the articles down, so the company nor taehee ever heard of it. the hate was unavoidable though, especially from the toxic fans.

this was the time they promoted during empathy era — during a fansign, a few of them either straight up ignored taehee or threatened her to never go near their biases, implying that she had some malicious intent towards them and that they didn’t want them getting “hurt”. someone’s fancam caught sight of taehee’s mood during the whole fansign. she tried not to show that she was affected when they told her these kinds of stuff, and every time the next person came and greeted her, she immediately goes back to her happy self as if nothing had happened. later, when the whole group was standing in front of the fans saying their ending ments, taehee placed herself in the far end as to not draw too much attention to herself. she looked off and bothered that it worried the fans near her :( but taehee would give them a simple smile in hopes of reassuring them that she was okay.

taehee still tried to put on a front even when there were no more cameras. the members thought she was all fine until she just suddenly broke down in the waiting room, crying and gasping for air. it took time before doyoung and taeyong were able to calm her down, even more to get her to tell them about it (besides them and two of their managers, johnny, mark, ten, jeno, haechan, and taeil were also in the room). they were the only ones who knew at the time why she’d lock herself in her room even after looking so energetic on camera.

she started feeling better when 127 went to the states for their regular promotions.

2019 after the incident wherein one of their ssg’s pulled her away from the members in the airport, taehee started having panic attacks again. fans saw how she covered herself with her hood or a cap and held tightly onto one of the member’s jackets as her knuckles turned white.

during these times, taehee tried to focus on completing the lyrics to one of their songs as a way to ground herself and distract her from the media, even if that sounded way too impossible with how they were talking over one another and pushing themselves closer to them.

it’s noticeable how she got really shaky as each of them entered the car, taeyong making sure she’d be one of the members who got in first so she didn’t have to stress herself any longer. once they’re moving, taeyong would go, “do you need any water?” and it pained him to see the tears threatening to spill from her eyes as she shook her head. he’d pull her to his shoulder and gently caress his hand over her hair, whispering soothing words, “it’s okay— you’re okay now. you’re safe now.”

these incidents started to get less and less as the year went by, and taehee was feeling better again before the next year could come.

2020 she’s starting to learn how to handle these situations really well (which is a proud moment for her so yay).

around punch promotions, one of her ssg’s followed her and her manager the whole day. taehee even approached them and politely told them to stop since it was getting really uncomfortable. they were dumbfounded (which was ironic) and even went on social media to rant about how rude she was in real life, but no one actually paid any attention to them since they were aware that she wasn’t the one at fault anyways.

she also got a bunch of calls from one of the boys’ ssg’s which no doubt bothered her, but she didn’t answer knowing that she might not like what she’ll hear from the other end of the line. thankfully, they stopped before resonance era came rolling around.

she talked about the issue with the ssg’s staying outside their dorm in a live later in the year (like what taeyong and haechan did). she was really thoughtful with her words, even mentioning how it could affect their safety in the midst of a pandemic. she knew she might receive some hate for it after, but she’s glad to have spoken up on the issue.
