ArtBash Week 1: Beach Dangers!
I guess the beach this year has a bit of a shark problem, huh?
Frenemies Tul and Taeg, being broâs. 5hungie
Whisper! For either Vel or Lana your choice C:
9. âI canât wait to watch you burn.â (oh dear)
Velmiera Silverwing was angry.
It really wasnât Taegannâs fault. Â Really. Â They had been hanging out with a couple members of the Galestorm and someone had brought up the ill of mages and highborne. Â It really wasnât Taegannâs fault that he had agreed to some of the points. Â Nor was it his fault that the othersâ remarks over these past few months had been digging at Velâs carefully constructed armor.
She had asked politely for Taegann to come with her for a moment; to help her get a few drinks for the Galestorm crew. Â She leaned in the corner of bar, back to the wall as she gazed at the young druid. Â Through the rage in her mind, she smiled politely at Taegann as he stepped closer as they waited for the bartender to finish preparing the drinks at the other end of the bar for another patron.
Vel was angry and in the end that was all it took. Â That was all it took for her to sweep aside her doubts, and the fog in her mind. Â Her anger grew cold in the pit of her stomach, clawing at the name Silverwing and Velmiera until all that was left was ice. Â Familiar ice wrapped around her thoughts in a heavy shroud, a chill she had pushed aside for thousands of years.
Velmiera may despise her kin. Â Velmiera might bow her head in subservience to mere kalâdorei. Â Velmiera would smile and say nothing.
But Era had had enough.
So she leaned a bit closer, close enough for her cold breath to fan across Taegannâs ear, ignoring the otherâs slight alarm.
âI canât wait to watch you burnâ

Really, was Lanaâs luck just out of commission? Â The rain pattered heavily on the roofs above, dripping cold water onto Lanaâs fur as he huddled in the alley next to a pile of barrels. Â A small outcrop of the roof covered the sky only partly, revealing dark, heavy storm clouds. Â Splashing from the entrance of the little alcove pulled the small worgenâs attention to a familiar but drenched sight. Â
Taegann smiled a little sheepishly at seeing the huddled up worgen. âYou too, huh?â He stepped into the partial awning, antlers glistening with rainwater and clothes near soaked to the bone.
A bright flash of lightning illuminated the alleyway starkly. Â Crash. Â The heavy roll of thunder shook the barrels.
Lana flinched, but smiled at the night elf in a poor attempt to cover it.
Taegann looked up at the sky, scowling a bit, âReally? A storm right now?â Â The night elf looked over at Lana has another loud clap of thunder shook them, this time catching Lanaâs ears twitching and slight shaking. Â Concerned, Taegann stepped a bit closer, hand retreating when another crash resounded, bright light filling the alley. Â The druid heard a low whine under the cover of the rain as Lana crouched down beside a barrel. Â Another roar of thunder like gunfire broke the heavy rainfall.
Make it stop, stop, stop â
âHey, hey, itâs alright, itâs just thunder! Â Youâre safeâ
Lana looked up at Taegann, the other kneeling down so they were eye-level.
âYouâre safe, okay, Iâm here after allâ The druid gave a little grin, hoping the lighthearted remark would catch.
It did. Â Lana gave a small smile, and when Taegann reached out to carefully pet his ears, he let him.
Safe.

â˘â hugging them!
Taeonthrial was lounging on deck of the Galestorm, which was docked at Rutâtheran to allow the crew some rest-bite for a couple of days while they restocked on food and fresh water. It was a warm day, warm enough that she was quite happy to be sunbathing up by the bowsprit.
In fact, she was almost dozing off when she heard footsteps that could never be described as delicate heading towards her. She opened one eye and twisted around to see Taegann bounding over to her, as he did. He looked pretty pleased with himself, which made her push herself up onto her elbows as he plonked himself down beside her.
âYouâre in a good mood?â Taeonthrial asked, tilting her head slightly as she looked up at him. Taeganns expression spread into one of his goofy grins, making her chuckle.
âKhalind said my mopping was âadequateâ.â He looked so pleased with this almost compliment that if he had grinned any wider he mightâve torn his face. Tae sat up properly, crossing her legs and chuckling to herself.
âAdequate eh? Guess youâre moving up in the world.â She pushed her long blue hair off her face, smiling warmly at him. At least Khalind had moved on from actively making the poor lads life more difficult than it had to be. She reached over and affectionately ruffled his hair, and he tried to bat her away to no avail and only ended up getting his shirt caught on one of his antlers. Taeonthrial laughed sympathetically at him and grabbed a hold of his antler and pulled his head down so she could unravel him.
âStay still!â She told him through her laughs as she freed him from his own mess, âHonestly, how you havenât fallen overboard yet I donât know.â Taeonthrial put an arm around his neck and pulled him in, rubbing her knuckles on his head playfully. He tried to escape but gave up and huffed, leaning against her shoulder and pouting.
âTook me ages to do that...â Teagann grumbled, meaning his hair. Taeonthrial just rolled her eyes and glanced down at him.
âSure it did.â
âIt did!â
She grinned and moved to give him more of a hug than a headlock, a fond gesture, and patted his hair back down to some semblance of neatness. âThere, much better.â
Taegann just grumbled something about heâd get her back, but was too happy where he was being hugged to do anything about it right now and instead just awkwardly put his arm around her too, trying to hide his slightly flushed cheeks.
"How do you like your eggs: poached, scrambled, or fertilized?" -- I couldn't resist XD
Taeonthrial almost spat out her drink. Taegann, he who they had spent winding up since he had joined the crew of the Galestorm and was known for his bad luck and even worse flirting, was sat across the table from her and some other of their crew mates. Thankfully, everyone else was too busy with their own conversations to have heard what Taegann had whispered into her ear as heâd walked past.
The young night elf had sat himself back down at the table with a goofy grin on his face, like he was pleased with himself for his line. Tae blinked a couple of times at him, before she burst out laughing, slapping her hand against her leg. The assembled crew gave her some strange looks as she cracked up, resting her head on her arm on the table.
âTaegann, oh Tae! You poor soul!â She managed to choke out between her giggled. By now, Taegann himself was looking a bit confused.
âWhat? Was that not good? I thought it was good!â Taegann protested, looking a little distressed at the apparent failure of his comment. Taeonthrial sat up, wiping away a small tear of laughter and holding her stomach with the other hand.
âMy sweet little Egg that was horrendousâ, she fought to control the chuckles that were bubbling up, trying not to embarrass him, but it was no use. She just ended up giggling to herself. Taegann looked a bit dejected and rubbed the back of his head.
âOh, haha. I mean, it was meant to be bad. Yeah, thatâs how it works right? Yeah.â He offered up a broad grin, trying to brush off his awkwardness. Tae gave him a pitiful look through her subsiding laughs and got up to pat him on the back.
âItâs okay Tae, youâll get there eventually. Iâm sure Anlathia can give you a few lessons.â The female druid flashed him a wicked grin and planted a small peck on his cheek. Honestly, what were they going to do with him.
â Pull on their hair/clothing!
Send me a symbol and I'll write a drabble about our muses!
It wasn't very often they got time off at sea, but Khalind had allowed the crew some down time while they were anchored off the coast of Teldrassil. The compromise was that they weren't to get drunk, since actual sailing would need to be done immediately after their fun.
So, to entertain themselves, they had divided into teams and we're having a mass game of hide and seek. Nowhere on the ship was out of bounds, and only stealth abilities were banned. It was basically a free for all.
Taeonthrial, being as small and lithe as she was, was wedged in between the two massive coils of rope that held the port-side anchor. She heard a great clattering along the deck and ducked down even further, making herself as small as she could. Taegann skidded along the deck, frantically looking for a place to hide. Luckily for him, he was on the same team as Tae, who grabbed his sleeve and yanked him down into the small space with her.
She held a finger to her lips, trying to stifle her giggles. He hadn't exactly landed in the most graceful of positions but at least he was hidden. She felt like she was a kid again, playing with her brother and sister. Taegann beamed stupidly at her, his goofy expression setting her off.
It wasn't long before the two of them were found, collapsed on each other in fits of giggles and wedged stuck between the ropes.
