Tailay di khushiyaan Gham da khazana
Totally random but do you think that Tabeer was underrated? or was it genuinely too sad for a large part for people to like it? Also what do you think of Iqra Aziz as an actor? Do you think she has what it takes to be genuine superstar in Pakistan which only perhaps Mahira Khan is of the ladies? Even someone like Mehwish who's done so well on the big screen wouldn't qualify as one simply because she's not heard to be the most genuine off screen.
I liked Tabeer mostly because the âheroâ of the drama was genuinely a good guy. Like from the start till end, Fawad was a good guy who was good in all departments of life. The kind of character I categorize as âache log hain dunya mein..tabhi toh dunya chal rahi haiâ. But damn the show was sad. Not in the melodramatic way like Kaisa Hai Naseeban where they really milk the sadness. Tabeerâs whole tone was this understated sadness which never goes away. Like..the sadness lingers all around it. I guess it was never intended to be a mainstream show. One needs to have certain taste and kinda mood to get into the show.
Iqra is a good actor. I do feel that she has overdone the loud mouthed brat role a bit too much but I caught some bits of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi last week and she really caught my attention. At this point I like her more when she is mellowed down. But itâs a personal preference. Does it have it in her to be a superstar like Mahira? Naaah. Far from it. As much as she shines onscreen I donât think she has that âx factorâ off screen. I see her all over my insta feed..the girl is the face of every other clothing line. But never once has she really made me go, âDamn.â You have to make people go âdamnâ when you appear on their feeds. Ek toh I donât understand what image she wants to go for. She keeps going between rebellious youth and desi charmer and it genuinely makes my head spin. Like..how many wigs does she own? You canât aspire to be at the top of the chain with all this confusion.
Besides..I REALLY donât think her relationship with Yasir Hussain and specially how they have been treating it is earning her any favors.

Yes! Not a fan of Shehzad Sheikh but him and Iqra have a good chemistry. You should check out Choti Si Zindagi too, at least till the leap. itâs such a cute pairing of these two and a cute show too. Tabeer is definitely going to get better now, itâs always had good writing but itâs just been really really grim till now!
Oh, I completely forgot that drama exists. I wasnât a fan of the whole premise of CSZ. Regardless of how ârealâ it was, I was just never comfortable with the idea of getting kids married. Cuz Iqraâs character was practically a kid. Her favorite game was getting her dolls married ffs..aisi bachi ki shaadi karadi. And Shehzadâs character quite a jerk who NEVER LEARNED. Specially post leap..GAAH! Kya yaad dila diya -_-
Lol, I donât think Tabeer will ever stop being grim. But..idk..maybe itâs the direction or how the writing doesnât try to over exaggerate the sadness, the show never gives me melodramatic vibes. Tabeerâs life has become a series of tragedies but itâs good that she is still being shown moving on. She has people who genuinely care for her and want the best from her. I like how Tabeer and Fawad are shown finding solace in things that arenât personally related to them. Tabeer is trying to find peace in nursing Fawadâs child while Fawad tries to fill the void in his chest not by distracting himself with harmful behavior but rather he just goes...good for everyone. Thatâs his form of escape and honestly, itâs wonderful.
The best bit is how the show enforces the idea that good people exist. That being good is not a bad thing. That one epi after Tabeerâs husband died and the poor old grandmother had to go buy groceries but she didnât have enough money for them. And it didnât matter because the shopkeeper owed Tabeerâs husband some old debt so he didnât take a paisa from the grandmother. That scene had just warmed my heart. Dramas nowadays tend to just enlarge and overplay the evils of the societies..itâs a nice change to see someone focusing on the good. Someone who takes our childhood lessons of, âBe good, do good, and good will happen to you.â seriously. Itâs like..the show celebrates life. It tells you ke despite the overbearing sadness..thereâs still light to be found that would keep you going. And thatâs a lesson that I donât mind being shown.
Have you watched Tabeer at all? Iqra Aziz is such a versatile actress and it shows in her choices too with this, Suno Chanda, Khamoshi and Ghairat before that. Sheâs perhaps second only to Yumna Zaidi in her versatility in the new crop of actors. Also fun fact Tabeer has the same director as well as Iqra and the actor playing Billo đ but letâs just say the feel of the dramas are polar opposites.
Iqra has definitely grown on me with SC. I didnât like her in Khamoshi but that was just the character which was so hate worthy. But between SC and Tabeer..I am really impressed by the girl. I watch Tabeer aate jaate mein but I might start paying more attention to it from next week now that Tabeer and Fawadâs relationship is on the way of development. Uff..I love this new trend of making the male leads as being as soft as possible. Kahan milte hain Fawad jaise banday?!
