Her mate was pregnant at the time and had a small, unhealthy litter with only one kit surviving. The new clan leader (Echoshines co-mother) ends up killing Milknose (I have to do three sorry) (2/3)             

Since Echoshine is presumed dead by most of her clanmates no one actually goes out to tell her about her mates death. She finds out through a vision of Milknose in Starclan, who gives her the task to protect the 3 kits of the prophecy. So ES runs back to the clan, exposes Morningstars murder on Milknose and takes a few cats with her to Form a small extra clan. Basically a civil war. When the kits are born Milknose guides her to them and she does her utmost to get them into her clan safely (3/3)
