Sysf is entirely populated by trans disabled gifted kids who're just chugging along on their own momentum and it's so funny because each of them has their own issues and they're just. All in the same space. Causing problems for each other.

Like, Olu is the golden child/child prodigy/rich kid flavor. She's just in college for the stimulation at this point she has to run a country eventually and wants to finish her research project first. She has an intense hatred of soil microbiology and eats rocks because otherwise she'll get root rot from being a self contained plant.

If she perceives people as smarter than her she immediately begins an academic rivalry to prove she's better even if the academic rivalry with a robot running at like. 10% constantly because the other 90% goes to keeping itself alive and streaming snake from its own head 24/7. Like yes it's an ancient war robot tactician but its memories are all in 166p and have audio that was recorded through a blender attached to a lawnmower. Also she thinks the robot is hot. And if you call her princess Olu she will bit you. She earned the title of doctor, thank you.

Julien Genet is an absurdly self destructive healer with chronic pain because his magic hurts him and he keeps using it and using it and using it and refusing to accept help because it could be worse and he has to save people because who else is gonna do it. Hurts him to walk? At least he has legs. All his ribs feel like they're shattered to dust? Hey at least his lungs are fine! He then proceeds to get bonked by any number of his friends and made to go take a nap.

He wants to make sure everyone is okay and he's been working towards being a doctor since he was eight. He's trans and he did bootleg shitty top surgery on himself. It worked. He once got trapped under the ice of a river and dragged out into a lake where he was discovered three months later by ice fishers thinking he was a dead body only to find that a couple hours later he sputters, coughs up a small lakes worth of water and smiles at them.

Lylyth lives on a college campus but refuses to take their free tuition (listen the setting of sysf is really weird and complicated but there's a ward for kids with banned magic on campus and they grew up in that) and instead fucks around and perches on the rafters in this weird ass college town. Their favorite hobby is to eat people's magic, do it in front of them and toss it back.

Ethel is many things. Pieces of whatever they could throw together, an intricate cane and nonfunctional eyes. It is Julien's, and he is its. They are of each other. Ethel's teeth match his own, Ethel's body matching his nerves.

It is many pieces. It is so clearly many pieces, stuck together by cling film and love. He watches it smile at him in its grimacing approximation for the last time before the light dies from its last eye.

It is back up and running in a few weeks. He couldn't take it and makes it swear to check in between fixes. He was nineteen.

Now he sits, a comfortable thirty six. He never had pups. He never moved on. He can still feel Lucy in the air he breathes, in brief respite from the aches of every day. He swears he can feel his hand on his waist, or tangled in his hair. A knock.

Ethel.

Ethel is long dead.

Ethel is outside his door.

Ethel is a paradox.

Corpses aren't meant to breathe and they aren't meant to be at your door, but Ethel has performed miracles before.

SYSF вече имат няколко издания зад гърба си и са събрали множество талантливи хора с интересни проекти по пътя. След скока, ще се опитам да предам в сбит вид случилото се този месец.

Първата презентация беше от екипа на постапокалиптичната настолна игра Bright Future. Те започнаха с видеото, което са подготвили за предстоящата си Kickstarter кампания, разказаха ни повече за света и персонажите си, и ни показаха много завършени, подобрени и отхвърлени рисунки. Особено любопитни бяха коментарите им за специфичните предизвикателства при рисуването за настолни игри – в случай, че искате да правите нещо подобно, определено си струва да поговорите с тях. Ще ги видим в Kickstarter през следващите няколко седмици, както и на партито, което са запланували около откриването на кампанията си.

Последва представяне на Bon Art Studio и пътя им от аутсорсинга към разработката на собствени проекти. Авторските им игри носят марката Ludus Studio и можете да ги разгледате на сайта на компанията, както и да ги свалите от Google Play или Apple App Store. Доста успешната Foosball Cup (над милион сваляния, челно място при игрите с джаги), например, скоро ще се сдобие и с продължение, озаглавено Foosball World Cup. Друго място, на което ще можем да видим работата им е детския научен център „Музейко“ – цялата интерактивна мултимедийна продукция използвана там ще бъде тяхно дело. Може би най-важната част от презентацията им? Търсят хора.

Сред гостите на събитието бяха също така Андрей Главчев от Essence и Георги Ракидов от Ivent Games.

С първият си поговорхме за скорошния успех на Battlegrounds of Eldhelm в Steam Greenlight. Изводите накратко: не разчитайте на бързо минаване през системата (в случая, на Essence им е била нужна цяла година), но ако разполагате с добра игра и търпение, е напълно възможно да бъдете одобрени и без да полагате някакви специални усилия за промотиране на играта си.

Ivent, от своя страна, вече са имали презентация на SYSF, видео от която ще можете да видите в рамките на идния месец. Ако и вие като мен обаче сте нетърпеливи да чуете плановете им занапред, ето какво научих: Като начало, Kickstarter за PC порта на Strength of the Sword 3. После, стига всичко да мине добре и с научените уроци от първия, още един Kickstarter – този път за запланувания им 2D бийт-ем-ъп. Целта на тези две кампании, впрочем, в никакъв случай не е грандоманска, а просто да си откупят достатъчно време за разработката на двата проекта. Собствениците на PlayStation Plus акаунти могат да им ударят едно рамо още сега, като си купят Strength of the Sword 3 на промоционална цена от $1.

Сто процента пропускам много неща, но засега – толкова. И докато аз определено ще се старая да отразявам бъдещите издания все по-добре, най-сигурният начин да не пропуснете нищо е просто да се присъедините към нас.
