A large ship appeared on the horizon, impossibly flying in the air as if the air were made out of water. Dozens of muscular figures with goat heads walked across the deck, all drooling in anticipation over the prospect of devouring Spirale City down to its core.

And commanding those troops were, of course, the ship’s captain. Donning her hat, the blue haired girl smiled faintly as the city came to her view. Then, she brought forth her weapon: a scythe (usually) able of denying witches and expose their ugly guts for all to see.

“...So this is where you have been hiding all this time, eh, Battler-san? What a quaint gameboard.”

Erika Furudo, the Witch of Truth, looked down on all the citizens fighting on the ground level. Her smile soon spread on her face, twisting into a grotesque expression of sneer and disdain.

“However, for the crime of imprisoning my master here as well, these ‘Stars’ will pay the most gruesome of prices possible. Goats!” She commands, raising an arm. “Prepare the cannons! Sharpen your teeth! You are not to leave a simple bit of this fragment up! Chaaaaaarge!!!”

And so the goats did, some jumping en masse into the city, others shooting the cannons viciously. They caused tremendous damage... In a single street, that is.

“What? What’s the meaning of this?! The city should have been razed already by those concep denying cannons! And why aren’t the endless theory goats already spread all over the area?!”

That’s when a goat approaches Erika and whispers something in her ear. It appears that the city’s defense forces have limited the number of available goats at a time to only 100, and the cannons can’t do more damage than actual physical cannons would be expected to do.

The gracious taker of bad news that she is, Erika promptly cuts the poor goat in half.

“So it’s like that, huh... Very well. I’ll prove, to myself and to my master, that I can win even under such terrible disadvantage.

While Reimu may have been without all but the tiniest amount of her abilities for the time-being, she still knew someone who was clearly not a human when she saw them. Brown eyes narrowed into slits, the shrine maiden gripping her makeshift gohei (really, she couldn’t call it that at all, given that it lacked any spiritual power... but the dumb stick was all they had given her) tightly in her hand, casting her gaze up and down over this newcomer. The amount of suspicion she held for this stranger could be felt heavily in the air; it was almost thick enough to cut through it with a knife.

Someone who gave off such a creepy aura right away didn’t seem like someone she should be hanging around, but she didn’t want to let her guard down and turn her back either. Not when she had no ofuda, no gohei, no needles, no Yin-Yang orbs... nothing.
