At last, it’s White Day. The special day where Battler can showcase his love for Beato shamelessly without people frowning on him. ...Sure, he would do it any day of the year, frowning or not, but this is a special date anyway!

And he has just the perfect idea of what to gift his wife with.

Earlier today, after their morning cuddling session and a delicious breakfast together, Battler asked her to wait on the mansion’s balcony, as he would be back pretty soon. Obviously, she had no idea of what he was planning, but this being White Day, she was sure that it would be something wonderful.

And he sure didn’t disappoint.

A couple minutes later, people at Golden Ward would witness a cartoon heart shaped balloon flying in the air, which wouldn’t be that peculiar by itself, except for two reasons:

One, the balloon is made out of chocolate. Two, it has Beatrice’s face stamped on it. Putting those two facts together, plus the date, it should be pretty easy to guess who created this physics defying thing.

“Oh, Beato... I got the invitation for your halloween party.”

Leaving his sword and glove in the sand, he approached the water and crouched down to glided his finger tips into the freezing cold sea. He stayed crouched for only a moment before he was standing, fist clutched as he channeled his Rain Flames at his hand. He could feel the tranquility of his flames as the blue sheened over his hand, and then

“RRRRRAAAAAHHHHH!!!”

He threw his flame over the water, watching it split a wave. They may have took his ring but at least he had something that was a little more than that stupid wooden sword. Still even that was limited. Grumbling, Squalo turns back around to return to that sword and glove in the sand only to notice a strange woman watching him. The thing the made her strange was how he hadn’t noticed her approach.

“JUST WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT DONNA?!”

This is hard because I am anything but interesting

- I’m basically bilingual. 

- I... like to cosplay a lot of girls. 

- I actually can’t get drunk??? I’m extremely heavyweight with it (mostly from genetics I guess).

- I love fall so much but also it symbolizes school so I cry about that. 

Natsuhi was surprised at the sight of the witch approaching her, with her hair down.In that place, they had not yet interacted much. There was still something like embarassment that kept Natsuhi a bit more… shy, towards her.A shyness tinted still with the deep color of guilt, as Beatrice’s face and that of that child overlapped, and that sight would again be brought to her memories, along with the scent of salt and blood, and the sound of the waves piercing her head like a terrible headache.Natsuhi would promptly send those visions away, but that bitterness deep inside her heart wouldn’t fade, even if now things were better, even if now she had forgiven her.Oh, and being called mother by her… it still made her skip a beat.It was such a… bittersweet feeling…Despite those sad thoughts, Natsuhi smiled to her.“My, of course, I’d gladly do so. Please, sit here.”With the same smile, she gently took the brush from her, and waited patiently for the witch to sit down.

Walking through the city after over a year of residency gave the tiny author advantages others did not -- she knew back alleys, what times were best to walk in which sectors, and she knew where all the things she enjoyed spending her time with were. She also knew when someone looked lost, though that was quite easy. Someone glancing around in confusion was another sight that got quite common, what with how many people spilled in and out of this city at random.

However, to see a familiar golden crop of hair look around in uncertainty, well... that was new.

Takatsuki Sen smiled, approaching the witch casually.

“Why, if it isn’t Beatrice!” 

The two women had only met a few times, acquainted mostly through a hot blooded redhead, but Eto was not expected to be greeted with more confusion.

This would be the moment where an emotional reencounter between Battler and his beloved Golden Witch happens, enough to make us cry over these lovers who seem to never be able to take a break to stay together. However, that has already been portrayed 2 times already, so let’s focus on something new instead.

Days pass, and our couple wants to have a moment just for the two of them. It’s sort of hard to plan a romantic night with your wife when you’re in the middle of a disaster area. No electricity at home, which means no TV or movies. No restaurant will be open at these conditions, at least none without a dash of eerieness coming from this city’s natives.

Thus, Battler has decided to come for the next best thing. He asks Beato to entertain herself with a cellphone game for a while, all while he has a ferocious battle with the kitchen. At least the walls here are already pretty burnt, so any slip up of his can be easily hidden.

At last, he calls for her, a goofy grin on his face. He takes her hand, as gentlemanly as it can be, and takes her to a room where the only light comes from candles over a table. Said table has a chunk of trays over it. It’s not particularly fancy food, but the fact that Battler has managed to cook anything under these conditions is a miracle to begin with.
