You can enjoy the rich flavor of sweet red wine with the smoothness of home-made ice cream. This rich dessert is great for people who like both desserts and wine.
Ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup sweet red wine. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 4 large egg yolks.
Instructions: Put the heavy cream, milk, and sugar in a saucepan. Heat them over medium-low heat until the sugar melts. In a different bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Pour the warm cream mixture into the egg yolks slowly while whisking all the time to temper the eggs. Put the mixture back in the saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring all the time, for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until it gets a little thicker. Take it off the heat and add the sweet red wine. Put the mix in a bowl and let it cool down until it's room temperature. Put it in the fridge for at least four hours or overnight with the lid on. Once the mixture is cold, use an ice cream maker according to the directions that came with it. Put the churned ice cream in a container that can go in the freezer. Freeze it until it's firm, which should take about 4 hours. Serve and have fun!
