F5Fest Day 21. Papaya, Sweetbeef
The Demon Bull King enjoyed fruit.
His husband primarily lived off fruit, like peaches, but it wasn't just that. DBK enjoyed the sweetness of fruit, regardless of how tart or bitter it could be. It tasted good, as well as brought to mind memories.
So, when he was freed, Sun Wukong wasted no time in presenting him with fruit.
It was a good way to get used to food again, according to him. "Your teeth look good," the monkey said after a quick look-over. "But your stomach probably won't be ready for heavier things."
So, fruit it was.
"Thank you, my love." DBK looked over the spread. There was a wide variety- peaches and bananas, of course, loquat, lychee, melons, persimmons, pears, logans, and more exotic fruits, like mangoes and raspberries and…
"What is that?"
"What's what?"
DBK plucked up a piece of the strange fruit. It had an orange color, with several black seeds attached along the edge. He gave it a sniff. It didn't smell good, but the color and softness was tempting.
"Oh, that's papaya! It's not really new, but I never got it before, so I figured it would be something nice to try."
His husband was too sweet.
"Thank you, my love." DBK held out his hand, and a knife was placed there.
He scraped off the seeds, setting them in a small bowl. Wukong had mentioned that his garden needed some work, so maybe he would be interested in planting them? With that done, he raised the piece up and took a bite.
"…sweet…"
It felt creamy to his tongue. He chewed for a few more seconds, soaking up the flavor, as he did every other piece.
"Reminds me of you."
His husband, his sweet husband, simply beamed and offered up another piece.
