(Came up with the basic inspiration for this while sending another Imagine prompt last night, and elaborated this morning.)
Imagine a tree in your backyard falls to the ground one night with the biggest commotion you’ve ever heard from a glorified plant. No one’s hurt, and there’s no structural damage to speak of, but it wakes you and Loki up, of course… and your two-month-old.
You both rush to the nursery. “Oh, sweetie. Don’t worry. Mommy and Daddy are both right here. Don’t cry, honey bun. We’re here. We’re all okay.” You pick your little angel up, bouncing and sweet-talking like only a mother can.
Loki puts a hand on your shoulder, hovering slightly to see the tiny bundle, and brushes the fingers of his free hand over the baby’s cheek.
Still, the frightened crying has yet to stop. Stupid tree had to fall and scare your baby.
You look up at Loki. “I have an idea.”
Loki smiles, already knowing your plan.
All it took for your little one to sleep was for Mommy and Daddy to sing a duet.
