After all the years he spent fantasizing killing Hannibal and when it may have finally happened, the results are unsettling and absolutely unnerving to no end.

Following book canon and merging with 1994 movie canon, this canon-divergent story follows Nicolas de Lenfent, who had managed to survive his suicide attempt in 1790. Details about this will be revealed as the fic goes along, but for now, Nicki is haunting in the swamps of Louisiana where he encounters a certain other vampire.

This is a one-shot separate from the fics in Evil or Divine, and Death Thy Lover. I experimented with different moments of canon divergence like the naughty Time Lord I am, and this is the third variant fic (hehe). So in this, everything that happened in TVL - Nicki kidnapped by Armand's coven when he was mortal, Nicki living with Armand for 10 years once he is turned, the hand chopping and the bonfire - all happened except that Nicki does not die and instead goes on living. How did Nicki survive? It will be revealed as this story goes on. :)
