I wanna ask what would be the SV + SVE bachelors (+Isaac and Marlon please) if they found out about Lewis' golden statue + corruption. 🫶✨
Hey hey, dear anon! 👋 Sure thing 😊
To be honest, I’m not really a fan of “Lewis is evil and corrupt” theory (yes, I’ve seen all his events/dialogue/secrets/letters, and still think he should treat Marnie better because she deserves to be loved and cherished), but in this scenario, the mayor will be held accountable for his crimes, heh.
Thanks so much for the ask, and have a wonderful day! 💕

Stardew Valley
Sebastian:
News of the corrupt mayor spread like wildfire, and Sebastian clearly remembers his mother clutching her head and talking about the astronomical sums of money that Lewis had embezzled from Stardew Valley’s budget. It’s not like the local emo was all that surprised, given his generally poor opinion of officials, especially since Sebastian was constantly reading news about how they were getting caught committing various crimes. Still, it wasn’t exactly a pleasant surprise — the old man might have been a party pooper, but he’d always seemed honest. As for the statue.... Sebastian wanted to pelt the golden Lewis with something disgusting, but the statue would soon be melted down and used for the good of the community. But he did manage to throw a rotten egg right in the face of the ex-mayor as Zuzu officers were taking him off. “A little gift before you go!”
Harvey:
Corruption and bribery... Harvey saw all of this back in medical school, among his professors and peers. He sincerely despised such behavior, vowing to remain honest, even in the face of others’ mockery and their claims that “everyone does it.” And upon learning of Lewis’s embezzlement, the doctor lost all respect for him. But what angered the usually calm Harvey even more was the fact that part of the stolen money was that very financial aid from the Republic for his clinic, where new equipment, necessary medications, funds for repairing the rooms and new beds were supposed to be purchased. The money that “The Republic officials had denied” went into that golden statue, a symbol of human greed! Cutting corners on people’s health! Harvey will voice his disappointment and disgust at the first opportunity when he sees ex-mayor being led away by law enforcement officers.
Shane:
“Wow, turns out that old sack of shit is also a corrupt sack of shit... Color me surprised,” Shane spat out the words with feigned shock, as if he hadn’t noticed the obvious for so long. But he had no hard evidence and couldn’t convince Marnie, who was sad but still full of love and hope. Not only did his aunt have absolutely terrible taste in men, but this self-obsessed peacock had also spent the community’s entire budget on the ugliest statue a chicken man had ever seen. That said, Shane thought the statue perfectly captured Lewis’s appearance. Now that Lewis’s shady dealings have been exposed and he’ll soon be kicked out of his position as major (thanks to Farmer) maybe Marnie will finally find someone who truly appreciates her and won’t hide their relationship (by climbing in through the window at night and traumatizing his niece.)
Elliott:
This is... dishonorable and unforgivable! To take advantage of the trust of all the residents, to deceive them, and to look everyone in the eye — including his own — without a shred of remorse! It’s simply... it's… Guah! Elliott can’t find the right words to express the outrage and betrayal he feels toward the old mayor! Oh, his whole body is trembling with rage! The writer cannot believe that this man, who swore an oath to work for the good of the Pelican Town, has shamelessly stolen money, spending it on his own selfish needs and building a golden statue in his own honor (utterly tasteless, by the way), has taken bribes, and probably has done Yoba knows what else, that remains undisclosed to Elliott and the rest. Well, Elliott hopes that Lewis will be held accountable for his crimes, and that the next mayor will be an honest and decent person.
Alex:
Alex doesn't even know what upsets him more: the situation itself, or how deeply hurt his grandmother Evelyn was, shaking her head in disbelief. As far as he can remember, Grandma always referred to Lewis as “dear Mayor” or “our kind Mayor.” But what shocked and angered the athlete even more was the fact that the financial aid that was supposed to go to their family after Alex’s mother’s death had also fallen into Lewis’ greedy hands. The entire Mullner family was grieving and struggled financially, and the help that could have been so useful to them... was inside that stupid, hideous statue. Alex wanted so badly to spit in the golden Lewis' face (and, for that matter, the real one too). “What a loser.” But he took down the golden statue with some satisfaction, dragging the heavy thing along with Farmer to Clint to be melted down.
Sam:
“Wait, deadass?” Sam knows his best friends wouldn't talk about something they weren't 100% sure of, but this came as a complete shock to him. He wouldn’t lie: he and Lewis had never really seen eye to eye, with the old man constantly complaining about 'today’s youth', while Sammy was serving his time doing community service for pranks. But he’d always thought of him as a decent guy, and now Lewis had been disgraced and kicked out of the mayor’s office for theft and bribery. Sam definitely wasn’t happy about the corrupt old man and didn’t even feel the slightest bit guilty about all those times he’d pelted Lewis’ house with rotten eggs. “Good riddance, you old fart...” He’d love to give the corrupt old man one last piece of his mind, but the new mayor would be the one left to scrub the musician’s “handiwork” off the windows and doors.
Marlon:
Even though Marlon didn’t officially hold a position in the anti-corruption unit (here wasn’t even such a unit in their small town anyway), that didn’t stop the adventurer from feeling guilty that he had let the residents down. No matter how much Farmer and Gil tried to convince him otherwise, no matter how much Marnie begged Marlon not to blame himself for another’s sins, adding that she was the one closest to Lewis and could have noticed something. And seeing Marnie on the verge of tears, something snapped inside the one-eyed man. The way she took some blame, the way that corrupted bastard treated her as if she were something shameful... Though in his eyes, Marnie deserved not to walk around sad and broken, but to blossom like the most beautiful flower. Marlon must admit that he took some pleasure in pushing Lewis harder than necessary when he, old but just as dangerous, handed the former mayor over to the authorities for trial.
Stardew Valley Expanded
Magnus Rasmodius:
When news of Lewis’ corruption reached Magnus, the old wizard felt guilty... Not because he had been involved in the corruption in any way, of course not, but because he could have uncovered the mayor’s dark deeds sooner if he had been more observant. Magnus had absolutely no interest in anything that happened in the mundane lives of practically all the residents, focusing instead on protecting the valley from any magical threat and seeking arcane truths. But he loves this place, he truly cares about everyone's well-being, and if he had looked into his crystal ball, perhaps he would have noticed Lewis carrying bags of gold late at night in an unknown direction... Well, Rasmodius can’t change fate now. The main thing is that the criminal has been caught red-handed, and the town will choose another mayor and take back all the loot, returning it to its rightful owners.
Lance:
Lance usually remains tight-lipped when something truly disappoints or angers him. He doesn’t shout, swear, or wave his arms about in frustration; he remains calm and composed, as always. But anyone can sense the shift in his mood, see the fire of rage in his violet eyes, hear his words, cold and sharp as a verdict, cutting through the air, and everyone feels a chill run down their spine at the threat. Lewis felt all of this firsthand when the pink-haired adventurer calmly voiced everything he thought about the former mayor. Because his corruption had harmed not only the good people of Stardew Valley, but also Castle Village, two communities that had become dear to Lance. All of this for the sake of a golden statue, just to stroke Lewis' own ego. Sigh... Lance at least hopes that the old mayor is truly remorseful, and that the residents of Pelican Town will find a better candidate.
Victor:
Victor had caught wind of some rumors about their local mayor, but corruption and bribery... He wouldn’t have believed it if Lewis hadn’t personally confessed to all the residents that he had indeed been stealing money from the community for so many years. Who would have thought... Victor’s mom always spoke quite positively about the old mayor. Even Grampleton’s mayor, Kendra, mentioned Lewis in a good light when the local engineer was teaching Victor how to build bridges. All of Lewis’s reputation turned out to be nothing more than a facade that crumbled when Farmer stepped in. In Victor's opinion, if Lewis hadn’t felt untouchable and hadn’t pulled off his scheme with Farmer and that golden statue, he would have continued his illegal activities right to the very end. In any case, the spaghetti lover is very disappointed in Lewis and didn't hesitate to tell him than.
Isaac:
Of course this “paradise on earth,” where everyone was friendly, turned out not to be quite as charming as Isaac’s colleagues had described it to him. Well, the place was actually nice and the people were more or less kind, but one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. And this rotten, wrinkled "apple" stared at Isaac, his frightened gaze shifting between the stern face of his temporary jailer and the adventurer’s sword. Isaac remains vigilant, hovering over the prisoner while the residents of the valley, along with Magnus and Camilla, decide Lewis’ fate, since corruption has reached Castle Village as well. And that golden statue... “What a waste of good metal... Whoever made it, the craftsman captured your ugly face perfectly,” Isaac didn’t miss the chance to mock the old mayor a little, since he’d been forced to guard this old man.
