SQUELCH. Something soft and wet beneath her toes sent a visceral shudder throughout her form. Drathenia was far from squeamish, but when it was unexpected within the sanctity of her very own domicile she could not help the grimace that curls her face in utter REVULSION. " Ugh. " Foot withdraws and hovers, revealing the partly digested raw flesh, having soaked through her socks and seeped between her toes. Well. . . it could have been worse, she supposes.

" Rathain, " she growls, EXASPERATED. " -these are Italian leather. Did you- eugh, forget to chew? "

A smile graces her lips, weary and faint as she regards him. Sensitive and perceptive, not much would slip by Rathain, even with her minimal features he had noticed her pensive demeanour. Claws outstretch and curl about his hand in a gentle hold. 

"  YOU, my boy,  " she answers truthfully, for it was not in her nature to lie. The soft pad of her thumb brushes over his knuckles tenderly, knowing that eventually she would have to let go. Her hollow gaze rests upon their hands, crimson lips purse slightly. 

"   I shan't cluck over you like some mother hen, but I do worry for you.  " Her admission is not without a touch a shame, for she would hate him to believe she thought him incapable of fending for himself. Time and time again he had proven himself more than capable, and she could never be more proud of him. He was a fearsome fighter, quick and clever. But there was always something that could fell even the mightiest and most cunning, and they often came in the most unassuming forms. A sigh heavily laden with burden was hefted, her gaze lifted to meet his own, the smile had bled away and her hand stilled.

"  Your journeys are long and not without peril, Rathain. I fear that one day I will see you, and that day will be the LAST.  "
