Writing штош is the rude mistake, but in russian memes we write some words the way we pronounce them.
штож=что ж=что же=well
But! "Что же" also can mean "what (exactly) ”. Often you can notice this meaning in questions.
Что же я хотел сделать сегодня? = What (exactly) did I want to do today?
Что же он имел в виду? =What (exactly) did he mean?
