"I'm Gonna Let My Heart Do The Walking" is my favorite Supremes song. From their penultimate album "High Energy", this 1976 song was the last top forty single from The Supremes who officially disbanded 18 months after its release. This Holland brothers disco-influenced composition actually features four Supremes instead of the usual three. Mary Wilson, Cindy Birdsong, and Scherrie Payne had already completed "High Energy" when Birdsong decided to walk away for good, she was then replaced by Wonderlove (Stevie Wonder's backup girl group) singer Susaye Greene (hence those Minnie Riperton-Deniece Williams notes she hits in this song). #thesupremes #highenergy #marywilson #scherriepayne #susayegreene #disco #rnb #1976
