This is a throwback pic (of course, cuz I have hair here lmbo) of a cute little holiday look I put together the year of the accident. The shoes I’m wearing here actually got destroyed when I was hit. They were some of my faves. I still have them in a bag from the hospital with my smashed glasses and the clothes I had to be cut out of in the ambulance. Seeing these shoes in this picture reminds me of how far I’ve come. I still have a ways to go, but I am more than just a survivor, I am a #SurTHRIVER and I hope you know that you can get through whatever you’re going through too. It may take time, but it’s your journey, no one else’s, so do it your way and in your own time. Fabulous and informative article: I am also a lifelong learner and there is such a wealth of free (or very low value) education resources that can help you to upskill yourself, even with limited physical, emotional and financial resources. I often find that once we've been hit by cancer (patient, carer, surthriver), our work no longer fits us as it did - or, indeed, we just become aware that we don't want to do "it" anymore! So I really appreciate the reminder to (a) keep your CVs up-to-date on specialist job search engines, and (b) keep upskilling and reinventing yourself!
