So... there’s been a lot of discussion recently amongst my friends and peers down the beach. Centring around etiquette, awareness and water safety. Consensus of opinion seems to agree people get taught or learn to surf, but rarely get told the do and don’t especially in crowded surf. It’s becoming more hazardous. The pic, is not my board. However it’s a guy that took off right in front of me, when I was paddling out. Experience got me out of trouble, as his board went over the top of me. One of the main reasons.. I stopped paddling before diving deep. Skip 15 mins, I found a bomb out the back, rode it 2/3 way.. then the same guy is paddling out... heading for the face in front of me. If he stopped paddling I would have surfed past... but no.. he kept paddling narrowing the gap... I just clipped his nose, if I didn’t have some skill.. it would have probably been him! Two paddles short I would have missed him... now he thinks it’s a Police matter!!
