Super YT Stories: Notice me
(in my excitement over nateâs cover of âstand outâ i was inspired to write a fic)
Super YT Rambles: N Sharpâs âplay listâ
iâve decided to list a few songs that N Sharp uses and how. Nateâs powers allow him to use the songs to aid and support himself and other around him, but they also have other affects (in this fanfic N Sharp used his powers to heat up the criminalâs gun and even made the robber feel like he was on fire but wasnât) and i just want to list them and keep track as i think about them. this is not a full list, this is just as i go along and think of songs.
Songs whos lyrics have affects (he can just sing bits of it rather than the whole song)
Disco Inferno: Heats up what ever Nate gestures to. Nate can control how hot the object/person gets- can in fact start things on fire and has done so in testing his powers.
Drop it like its hot: similar to disco inferno, but the object has to be held (rather this works on a person has yet to be tested) and can cause the object to become so hot it melts. Nate can not control how hot the object becomes- it continues to heat up until it is dropped (this is why it has not been tested on a person being held by an object/other person).
Kick it up a notch: specifically the line âKick it up a notch!â and the course itself, the song gives N Sharp a small boost to strength, speed, resistance, and if he would to sing the whole song he would gain a jump boost. if he plays his Air Guitar he looses the boosts but everyone around him gains it. NateMare used this song (the âkicking up the evil bitâ) to defeat N Sharp since N tried to use it in their first battle.
Songs that only work if sung fully/during the whole battle (these are the songs that nate sings in a battle or in the open)
Reluctant heroes: a war cry of sorts, this song boosts the moral, strength, and over all power of nate and his allies. the boost grows in power as the song continues- when the song gets to the first minute its a X2 boost, at the first âreluctant heroesâ line it goes to a X3, a X4 at the next, and it continues until the 2 minute mark (X6) and from there nate has to focus on who gets the X7 boost -either himself or one other person- and once the song ends the boosts are retracted slowly, so even if n sharp is no longer singing the affects of the song can last 2 maybe 3 minutes. due to the fact that Natewantstobattle covered this song, if N Sharp would to use this song his identity would be revealed, so it is avoided at all costs. (NOTE: im changing this a tiny bit. i decided in the fanfic world nate ONLY covers anime songs so anime songs are to be avoided. the reason being is i had an idea for âstand outâ and nate covered it but its important to some plot points i have so âscrew the rules im making this up as i goâ)
Victorious: this song is N Sharpâs strongest, most powerful song. âtonight we are victoriousâ is all N Sharp really needs because of the nature of this song- it takes a page from The Theoryâs book and manipulates reality itself in order to grant N Sharp the victory. however, the huge down side of the song is the very next time he wants to use it the song will not work, and will even back fire. this was tested many times- the last time being the last due to the fact that N Sharp nearly lost his head. only uses this song in extreme emergencies.Â
Stand out: N Sharp becomes the center of attention for one or more individuals. they are physically incapable of looking away from him and are even coxed into chasing him if he wills it. when combined with his air guitar or drum sticks he can attract more targets and even objects. this song is also used if N Sharp gets separated from The Theory or Officer Plier.Â
Songs that can work well as stand alone lyrics or full songs (wild card songs that N Sharp uses out of habit or to let another songâs power refresh)
welcome to paradise: bits of the song can be played to give a boost to N Sharp or those around him. the song appears to have âno affectâ when sung fully, but it reality it calms the area and relaxes tension. because of this, N Sharp typically air guitars/drums this song out while on patrol (he doesnât sing it, letting the songâs power refresh faster, allowing N Sharp to use the song more often). the lyrics âWelcome to paradiseâ instantly calms the target but canât be used on more than one person. âdear mama can you hear me laughin?â and âdear mama can you hear me whinin?â works like âstand outâ and gains the attention of the target(s).Â
Super YT stories: Time Skip
âw-whhaha- what is that, TT?â N Sharp found himself laughing far too hard at the adorable thing sitting at The Theoryâs side.
âThis...â the other hero stooped down to scoop up and cradle the robot. â...is Skip!â
purring happily in The Theoryâs arms was a clearly robotic cat: if N Sharp didnât know any better he would have thought the catâs head was a smaller version of his companionâs helmet.
âI built him to keep an eye on the head quarters.â
âso instead of a guard dog, we have a robot cat?â
on cue, a more than excited bark echoed in the literal cave-N Sharp thought the acoustics were amazing- that was the duo's hide out. trailing behind the dog was the unofficial member of the hero team, Officer Plier.
âHey guys, whats that?â the police officer tipped his hat in greeting. he approached The Theory with Chika the K9 officer trailing behind.
âSkip apparently.â N Sharp gestured to the cat, although his voice was a much higher octave.
The Theory adjusted the robot in his arms, the catâs scanners locking onto Mark instantly. there was a soft purring sound, like a computer fan. the catâs tail twitched and Skip crawled out of his position, taking a step closer to the officer. Mark took a half step back, N Sharp crossing his arms and tilting his head.
âhaha donât worry officer, itâs Skipâs security system.â
âwhy didnât it do that to me?â N Sharp idly took out his drum sticks and twirled them between his fingers.
Theory out stretched his arm toward Mark, allowing the cat to walk out on it and get a better look, tail twitching, the purring getting louder.
âI programmed him to recognize us through simple yet iconic traits- as his creator he recognized my speech patterns...â
N Sharp tapped at the air with his drum sticks, beating out a very faint drum version of the Jaws theme. he chuckled at the glare he received from the man in uniform and his smirk only grew when the cat decided to get even closer.
âHe recognizes N Sharpâs voice as well, a long with that bright neon green mask...â
âits sea foam.â N Sharpâs retort was accompanied by a bu dum dis. The Theory rolled his eyes at Skip swiped at the officerâs hat, knocking it onto the canine beside him, revealing neon pink hair.
â...And Markâs bright hair dye!â Theory smiled behind his helmet, happy his creation figured out why itâs scanners werenât able to pick up the manâs hair color.
Skip purred again, the tail no longer twitching as it leaped for Markâs shoulder. the actions of the robot caused a small bark from Chika, gaining the attention of the cat. to The Theoryâs surprise, the tail twitched aggressively.
âoh no...â Theory took a defensive stance as he hesitantly reached for the cat. ânononono i forgot to add Chika!â
the catâs motor whirled as the visor turned red and the tail shot up in the air. Chika, in her innocent doggie mind, sniffed up at the robot. there was a hiss and if Theory hadnât caught the cat in time Mark would have thrown the robot -and its set of sharp claws- across the room and away from his dog.
âi forgot to add Chika no no-OW! Skip shut down! shut down!â The Theory struggled to keep the cat under control but the claws were sharp enough to puncture his usually indestructible suit, nicking his skin.
N Sharp exchanged his drum sticks for a neon  sea foam guitar pick and started to strum a set of invisible strings. the âAir Guitarâ played a soft tune directed at Skip.
âhush little kitty, donât câyou purrâ the singer took a few steps toward the robot. âNâs gonna your mocking- OH GOD!âÂ
N fell back as the robot leaped at him, clawing at the non existent guitar. Theory made a mad dash for the cat, shouting various commands that seemed to be ignored. Skip hissed and bared itâs claws at the police dog who innocently wagged her tail at it. a moment before the cat reached itâs target itâs tail was grabbed by the man in blue.
Skip wailed and yowed as it seemed to be confused as to why it was upside down. Mark holding it up and looking it over.
âi think your cat has a few bugs in it, Theory.â
âi am SO sorry!â Theory took hold of the cat, pressing a plate on itâs back. the cat froze in both sounds and movements as Theory fiddled with it.
âYou alright over there N Sharp?â Mark called as Chika strolled over, blissfully unaware of the fact she could have be seriously harmed. N Sharp layed on the floor, his cape wrapped around him protectively as the dog nuzzled him.
âYeah. Fine. Thank you for caring officer Chika.â his voice was shaky as he reached out to pet the pooch.
âokay this was a terrible idea, i canât believe i forgot chika...â The Theory muttered to himself as he took the robot back to his work bench.
ânah i think this was a great idea.â Mark gave Theory a pat on back as he worked. âyou wouldnât have found out none of Skipâs commands work.â
Theory nodded as he tinkered. how could he forget Chika? the dog spent a whole week in the head quarters after she got hurt and she was at his side when ever she felt like walking. Mark talked about her non stop and N Sharp sang the dog to sleep when she had anxiety. Chika was just as important as Mark! how could he...
he didnât.
Theoryâs scans confirmed he put the dogâs innocent tail wag into Skip. Skip had several videos to pull as reference, the sound of Chkiaâs bark, even a voice clip of Mark calling her to get the dog to come closer for a scan! WHY did Skip go into attack mode?
âHey TT!â N called as he petted the dog. âHave Skip recognize Markâs hat!â
âwhat? why would that be....â
Chika sat, tail wagging happily as Mark cuddled the dog. The police officerâs hat sat slanted on her head, covering an eye. with a palm to the visor of his helmet, Theory reached into his pocket and snapped a picture of the scene with his phone. he grumbled about how it was stupid and how it wasnât going to make a difference as he uploaded the image to Skipâs database. hesitantly he flicked the cat back on. he looked at him and purred, scanned N Sharp -who did a quick doe ray me-, scanned Mark, and than set his scanners onto the dog.
it was a long moment before the cat purred and rubbed against the dog. Theory didnât know he was holding a breath until he exhaled.
âwait a minute...â Mark mused as he picked up the robot. âWhy is it named Skip?â
The Theory was curious about the question, raising a brow behind the red tinted visor.
âI named him after m-â
âDid you know Mat Pat of game theory has a cat named Skip?â
Theory nearly fell over. oh right, Mark is a fan.
ây-yes i DID! a-and thats who i named him after. yup. cat pat.â
âso you DID watch his videos! whatd you think of them? do you think luigi really is evil?...â Mark rambled on about various Game Theory episodes as N Sharp snuck off before Mark asked if he listened to any of those NateWantsToBattle songs he sent him.
Super YT stories: The Theory answers the call
it was never enough...
the tv blares behind the young male typing away at his computer. another missing persons cause solved, but now a string of robberies has taken the spot light. the typing hastened, accompanied by the rapid clicks of a mouse.
âif you recognize this man-â advert eyes from monitor. stare at screen. memorize. analyze. â-call our crime stoppers hot line at...â
tall. blonde. scar. blue? no green eyes. white? no, mixed...but with what?
more clicking. more typing. wait, stop- stop! head ache...
Matthew sighed and adverted his eyes from the monitor to take a small break. starring at the keyboard his hands trembled- when was the last time he ate? was he dehydrated? âprobably...â he thought as he reached for the can of diet coke. the carbonated drink bit at his throat and somehow cleared the vertigo he was starting to feel. he rubbed his eyes and breathed slowly before clapping his hands once and almost clapping them again, but they flew to the key board and his eyes darted around the monitor.
his nose was very big. is that normal? does he just have a big nose? no, no one JUST have something, theres reasons. genetics, plastic surgery...
his mind wondered too far and he groaned. with a press of a button a second monitor popped out of his desk. the tv blared about a breaking news alert, halting mattâs hands.
âseveral cars were involved in a high speed chase that ended with three injured, one deadâ
Dead.
Matt had to force his hands to keep typing as he continued to listen to the television, a huge part of him begging that the robber he was looking for was not involved.
âthe driver of this mini van-â mini van. soccer mom. children. â-was rear ended and sent flying into the other two cars by someone who police believe-â donât say it â-may have assisted in one of the robberies that took place last Friday night.â darn it!
click click click. he had a big head. could that also be genetics? wait... the police think the robber had a partner?
turning to the tv, Matt had to rub at his eyes again- was he tired or just fatigued? the on scene reporter held a microphone up to the police officer who was chasing the would be partner.Â
âWe have a Theory-â they donât have enough information. â-that the robberies were committed in a pattern; the suspect was seen hanging around what we suspected to be the next target-â oh! they did have enough information. just need it to be tested. â-and reports say he was there for hours just sitting in his car.â
âdo you think you will be able to get any information out of him?â hes alive
âno. when he rear ended the victim-â soccer mom... â-he suffered a severe impact to the head. he wasnât declared dead on the scene but i donât think hes going to be alive when he gets to the hospital.â
Matt stood from his chair and strolled over to his bed side table. sitting next to his alarm clock was a motorcycle helmet- he kept it there to help him organize his thoughts for game theory but right now he needed it for more important things. placing the grey helm over his head calmed and cleared his mind, a few projected screens appearing depicting what he knew about the human body, car crashes, and head injuries.
he didnât snap his neck- he would have been declared dead. whiplash seems to be the best bet. severe head injury...
mattâs mind rampaged through information as he went back to the desk and two monitors. his hands typed so fast the keyboard wouldnât even register he hit a key at times. the tv hummed about the family in the mini van- theres 1 in 4 chances the driver of the car died- which was a mom and a child -theres a 1 in 4 chance the child is dead- and how they were both sent to the same hospital as the suspect. the dead victim was an elderly man who died from- old age - natural causes a moment before his car was hit. no one else was hurt in the accident.
Matt leaned back in his chair was a sigh- willing reality was so tiring but so worth it.
but it wasnât enough...
matt starred at the ceiling as his mind ran over and triple checked his information. in the mean time he thought about all this. what good was he really doing from behind this desk in this apartment stealing his neighbor's wi fi? theres still one dead person and three injured people- one of which is a child! are they okay? broken leg? if it really was a soccer mom driving then how long will they be out of the game? did this selfish robber just cause a small childâs dreams of winning the regionals game to shatter like their tibia? the thoughts made matthew glare which prompted his mind to halt for a moment on the mug shot the police had. this man...
he will survive and confess. mattâs mind demanded. he will live and confess to what ever crimes he committed. he willed. the robbies will stop because he was not only the get away driver, but HE was the one robbing the banks! his mind hurt from the effort as he willed the statement to be true. it HAD to be true. he had the knowledge, the clues, the proof, the-
there was evidence that there was indeed an accomplish...
Matt looked over the mini screens in his helmet and the two monitors. two sets of foot prints in the flower beds outside the bank. fibers from a glove but also tiny bits of finger prints -probably how they figured out who their suspect was- and the security camera picked up foot steps out of shot while the robber was standing still.
there WAS a second man there... but the police donât have anything on him..
matt stood from the desk and marched over to his âtrophyâ wall. news paper head lines and clippings of all the cases he helped solve anonymously. the wall was covered from head to toe, from ceiling to floor. murders, robbiers, missing people, but it wasnât enough. criminals just seem to come out of the wood work- one pest is taken care of, five more take itâs place like roaches.
it was depressing...
âIf they keep coming, then whats the point in fighting?â he thought as he removed his helmet, the slight feeling of vertigo coming and going in the moment.
âlocal hero âN Sharpâ helps the EPD once again in capturing yet another thug!â
matt turned to the Tv. oh, thats right. N Sharp. he had gotten a few comments on the most recent Game Theory to do a Theory on who he might be. he had an idea but kept it to himself- no way in hell is going to out a super hero.
âHash tag JUSTICE trends once again as N Sharp keeps the streets of Ewe-toobliss safe for citizens like little Jason here.â
Matt found a smile form on his face as he watched the reporter stoop low enough to hold the mic to the childâs face to get their account of the events.
âThere was a scary guy-â robber...â-with a gun-â killer...â-and i wanted to cry-â fear...â-but then N Sharp came and sang a song about dropping something that was hot-â HAHAHHA! â-and he saved me!â
looking away from the TV to his helmet, Matthew wondered if N Sharp could use his help....
âi mean...â he paused, looking at his wall of news paper clippings -brownie points really-Â âi do DO a good job at getting the bigger fish in the firer...â
the pause lasted too long to mattâs liking and decided to put the helmet on to think about this. he had a theory slowly forming; if two people can do so much good alone, what could they do together?
Matt was taken aback by what his mind showed him- memories of working with people on projects, co-op moments in video games hes played, the times he was part of a team. this was all proof from his own life experiences that this could work. for once he wasnât running on speculations and book smarts, but true blue facts and wisdom. He laughed as he realized what he was going to do.
he was going to become a super hero on The Theory that two heads are better than one.
