The Christmas episode felt like a feverish dream to me. I barely remember Holly, but I know I loved her. Today I tried to redesign her, aiming to eliminate that Disney style and make her more "realistic" (at least to the extent that a cartoon allows).

And speaking of that series, I also did the same with Buster

Well the last week has definitely been an interesting one! I went on vacation to try and deal with a little bit of the burnout that I’ve been feeling at work lately. I was about three days in when my supervisor messaged me asking if I knew where the Nintendo Switch was. Our Friends of the Library group had donated money to upgrade from our Wii before Covid-19 happened and we revamped our after school program for the teens. I replied saying I hadn’t seen it in a while since we aren’t having youth programming right now.

She then drops the bomb that the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii, and all of the games for both are gone. All of it together (although not adjusting for dropped prices of the Wii consoles and games) came out to about $1700 worth of stuff gone.Cue me picking my jaw from the floor. This stuff was locked in the back of a closet that no one other than staff had any business being in or knowing what was in there.

But wait there’s more!

We were also having weird occurrences where we would go to put a DVD in a case for a patron and wouldn’t be able to find the DVD sleeve or the DVD. At first it was one or two, then there was a day we found we were missing four. Definitely not normal. After comparing cases available to DVD sleeves we found that about 20+ were missing from our bin and routing boxes for other branches. When we made a list for the first couple that were missing we put it out on the desk for staff to add to it as they found them. That went missing too! There were no signs of forced entry and only certain people have a key to get in. A detective is looking in to it, but kinda feel like we’ve done a lot of the detective work in doing our own inventory and finding all the extra ones that are missing.

I read a book that I’ve been thinking about since 5th grade, but I could only remember three details:

There’s some ice skating

The protagonist is amazed that an older, glamorous girl can confidently pee while a guy waits outside the bathroom door

I finally figured out the title thanks to the internet, and it’s back in my life thanks to Community Bookstore. Will The Unlikely Romance of Kate Bjorkman stand the test of time?! The cover art is promising.😽
