Just in case it hasn’t occurred to you, “shop local” doesn’t just refer to buying overpriced lattes from a hometown coffee shop. It can also refer to:
-hiring a local plumber, repair company, etc over a contractor at a big box store
-using a farm share when in season instead of buying imported fruits and veggies
-choosing a physician owned practice for your doctor, dentist or eye doctor rather than one owned by a large hospital conglomerate
-utilizing free resources at your local library for cooking gadgets, recording equipment, seeds, and more depending on your area rather than supporting someplace like Temu or Amazon
-there’s probably more but you get the idea. Don’t feel guilty if you can’t afford to buy that seven dollar local latte. where you spend your money is probably more important than how much you’re spending.
