âOf course I made it, darling.â Chris responded, sending the girl a smile as he moved around her, so his arm was clearly around the girlâs waist. Nothing inappropriate, but clearly sending a vibe to the male opposite them who was staring at the two in disbelief. Â âSorry Iâm late, my brother didnât show up to take his shift at the bar.â
Chris had been a few feet away at the bar when he noticed the girlâs obvious discomfort. If there was one thing Chris didnât allow in his bar, it was harassment of the patrons, by other patrons.  The man had a distinct vibe about him that made Chris mentally frown--members of the magical community often came here and cross-mingled with mortal community, even though there was a special âvipâ area for the magical people. The man gave Chris pause, demons werenât allowed here--only halflings, but just because someone practiced good magic, didnât mean they were a good person.
