    when she asked for his powers, he clammed up. he didn’t know if he could do much outside of the parlor jokes he did growing up with lorna. ❛ i break things when i yell, i hear almost everything, and i can mimic voices. but as for anything else…that’s a work in progress. ❜

    it was fairly obvious that the girl was nervous, and howard couldn’t blame her. though he knew that he meant her no harm, howard had read reports of what other scientists thought of mutants. though howard had his own reservations, there’d be no experimentation here. not on his watch. “ —– well, if you’ll let me, i was hoping i could help YOU.” a beat as he took a sip of his coffee, trying to be as casual as he could. “an introduction seems to be a good way to start. my name’s howard stark. what’s yours?”

Logan barked out a booming laugh at that. It was loud, and certainly drew attention, but he didn’t seem to care. He swept out an arm to wrap around her shoulders, a carefully placed sideways hug slash playful tussle. “That’s my girl,” he praised. He pulled back, but was quick to nod her towards the coat room, “Grab a jacket, it’s cold out. I’m gonna grab the bike, you get ready to run, darlin’. We’re breakin’ you outta here.”

She grins a bit when he grows proud of her, giving her that warm feeling once more. ‘I learned from the best.’ Rogue muses in a light tone before nodding at his instructions- which would seem out of character to anyone else but her; Logan actually caring that someone might be cold? Yeah, it was rare. Without another word she moves towards the coat room and fetches one of her favorite hoodies before moving to the front drive of the mansion, waiting for Logan to appear with his bike.

     ❛ i like him. ❜ he didn’t want to reveal the entire reason why he was here, he was certain the professor knew already, hearing so many thoughts, and knowing certain individuals who came to his school in the past. finding a chair close by, he sat down slowly, taking in the vast space of the room. a map would be useful, but he had a certain level of confidence that he would figure it out…eventually. ❛ he sounds like a good guy, especially to do all this. for people like us. ❜

He blinks. Once, twice, until he’s absolutely certain that there is a stranger in the lab. Sure, this isn’t the first time they’ve had an intruder in the lab. It’s likely it’ll be far from the last. This is however, the first time it’s been Barry that was here when it happened instead of Cisco. Hand moves quietly towards the panic button in his pocket, eyes narrowing in suspicion.

“ And what can Star Labs do for you today? “

She sits on the edge of the desk, feet propped up in one of the chairs. Rogue had been waiting awhile for someone to show up and was almost getting to the point where she was going to call it quits and leave. But the sound of footsteps reaches her ears and her eyes narrow at the sight of the man. Immediately head cants to the side and the look she wears turns serious,   ‘ You can fix me. ’

❛ Should, but I don’t think I will. ❜ Though, in all reality, the man could have cared less about going home —– that is, if his hotel room could even be considered one,  ❛ They might not be the safest or nicest. ‘Course, I can handle myself ‘round them.❜  A slight grin then tugged at his lips,  ❛ A name is only as important as the power it holds. ❜ He mused out lowly.

     “Clearly I mean how else would  a simple human have gotten in here?” Stiles replied with a raised brow. “You can relax, I promise. My father’s having a meeting with Charles Xavier and dragged me along because I guess I can’t be trusted to not get into trouble.” There’s a shake of his head. “Does my standing here bother you that much? I’m Stiles by the way.”

    ❛ you must have been here for a long time then. ❜ he notes, remembering her status. he repeated it in his mind to make sure he didn’t confuse her with possibly anything or anyone else. ❛ this place is bigger than i expected. ❜ he didn’t know what he expected, exactly, all he knew is that the other mutants he knew swore by this place. when he takes note of the lounge area, he breathes out a quiet wow. ❛ he probably does if he’s as great as i’ve heard. ❜

                     — Remy Lebeau. He gave this to me.  — So I could find you. The woman was hesitant, Laura could smell something similar to fear on the air. However, it wasn’t her intention to cause that to her, she was only there for a favor to her mentor.  — He wanted me to find you, to make sure that you are fine. He couldn’t be here because if he did, you would be in danger.  — And neither I can talk about this. Laura wasn’t so sure about the SAFETY of that woman by standing on her side, but it was Remy’s request, she couldn’t deny it after everything he did to help her. 

He grinned lightly hearing her laugh..”I know that, but doesn’t mean I need grief from one eye.”…he murmured. He always made comical and slightly rude references to Scott without even hesitating. He swallowed hard..”Combination is good with me.”…he laughed at her calling him The Wolverine, he didn’t allow anyone to call him that unless they were in the field.

    With his lips pursed, Rhys tries to think of how to explain he just wants somewhere to sit and think. Sounds weird in his head. 

    “Genetics, huh,” he says, trying to keep the twinge of nerves out of his voice. He holds out a hand and waits, as a book floats from the top shelf and lands in his hand - well, nearly. He drops it almost immediately and drops to the floor to pick it up. He’s flustered now. Shit.  “Yeah. What’re you doing out at- at- uh, now? It’s late.” 

     She laughs a little bit, closing the book in her hands and tossing it on the table. There was no reason for continuing to do her work now since there was someone else in the room. Anytime someone was near it always seemed to drive Rogue to the point that she had to quit.   ‘ I work best when there isn’t anyone around me and late at night. Don’t like ta sleep. ’ 

    gently, her hands raise a little. the universal sign that she means no harm - she’s certain by now it’s clear she’s not carrying a gun either. it’s just her, slender frame and bright eyes, warm regardless of the woman’s very clear reaction to her presence.  ‘ I tend to go by jemma over shield. it has a nicer ring. ’   it’s probably not the best time for it but her soft joke is followed by a shrug,  ‘ consider this a… consultation. ’

❝ Right, right. ❞ A roll of his eyes at his own statement, ❝ Some don’t and some do. Honestly, I was just enjoying the view; the forest does seem to be amusing doesn’t it? A piece of nature that isn’t exactly touched by everything we have these days. ❞ A grin pulled at his lips for a few moments, ❝ It’s Ky’lar. ❞         

“Takin’ you out of the school is definitely on Chuck’s no-no list.” he pointed out, though it was hardly a refusal. On the contrary, he was only encouraged by Rogue’s request. He fixed his jacket, the leather still cold from travelling against the wind for so long, and twisted his head to glance around. It was a quick look, checking if anyone was around to see the disappearing act. He had been gone for longer this time around. By the time he glanced back to Marie, he was convinced. A weary grin - weary because it had been well worn by Rogue’s winning hand - and he merely jerked his head over his shoulder. “Alright, tacos. You got money on ya? I think I’m still carring Canadian.”
