This observation is based on Regina’s two most iconic songs (in my opinion) from the musical rather than her entire character as a whole; connecting her to Grian in that manner is an entirely different conversation for a Never Time. No, I’m talking Someone Gets Hurt and World Burn.

Ignoring all the uh. Romantic and/or sexual connotations this song presents, mainly in the first verse; this is so Grian and Scar during 3rd Life—

Wait, but they got on like a house on fire during 3rd Life.

They did.

…Until that one teensy moment in the finale with Bdubs, with that oh so valuable No Kill Pass.

After all Grian did for him, Scar still callously (callously!) put his life on the line by throwing down a simple piece of paper, and letting the other two claw tooth and nail for their survival.

What could Grian possibly be thinking at that moment?

…Oh wait.

[…] That you chose him over me. Are you kidding?

Not only that, look at what Regina sings in the literal next lines:

Poor little me all trapped in this fabulous show;

Isn't this fascinating, especially considering Grian is considered to be the only one that remembers anything about the world beyond during the first season?

[...I am normal I swear,]

I don't know; the vision I have in my head is that Grian gradually transitions from talking to Scar to talking to the Watchers he knows are expecting him to fail as the song carries on, especially at the end (he can't really talk to Scar since he's beaten Scar to death at that point). Very dramatic, and very sad.

But when we talk about World Burn,

This screams Grian's character during Wild Life; specifically, after Jimmy blew him up. Grian is what kills Jimmy nearly every series, be it unintentionally or very intentionally. So Jimmy killing him, betraying him, especially when he tried to help? Would probably drive him off the edge like Regina was when Cady betrayed her. Instead of having a burn book scandal though, Grian just. Blows him up.

...Our highly efficient king.

[Plus, his fire one liner when he blew up the BAMBunker really fits the line, 'and you can quote this.']

However, this song doesn't just work within the context of Jimmy and Grian's relationship during the series, no no. I don't know if a lot of people noticed this, but Grian was quite volatile this season. For instance, during ep7, he yelled at everyone to stop having fun. He hunted down those that betrayed him till they were dead (multiple times, in the case of Mumbo and Skizz!)

Mix that in with Martyn's Eyes and Ears AU, which canonically has Grian gaining some more power to control what happens because of the imbalance between the Watchers and Listeners shifting in the Listeners favor, you get:

I wanna watch the world burn, I got the gasoline, I wanna watch the world burn, And everyone get mean.

...Yeah.
