#sumptuous olive

I haven’t posted for a while because I’ve been so busy but I’m really trying to be active with this again so bear with!

I discovered an all-time favourite colour combination thanks to our lord and saviour MAC.

For my birthday with the money I received I bought myself the wondrous eye shadow shade of sumptuous olive which I completely in love with, it’s light enough to either wear on it’s own with a little bit of mascara, or for the evening it adds another dimension to the smokey eye! I’ve yet to try this but I’ve always wanted to try and olive based smokey effect so I have no doubts that I’ll be trying this next.

For lipstick I pondered for a while what shade would best match this, I’m a BIG fan of the various shades of purple and was considering any one of those, however, I decided to go with my all time favourite of VIVA GLAM III and I am so glad I did! It creates a heavenly duo! The darker lips balance off the light eyes and create a wonderful look!

MAC is one of the most loved and most used brands of makeup in the world, and as I'm making tutorials, even when I don't use their shades, I sometimes feel a need to reference them (e.g. "if you don't have this color, you can try something like MAC Antiqued" because I know most people around the world are able to access a MAC counter to take a look at the exact colors I'm talking about).

At the same time, I know sometimes it can get frustrating when everybody does tutorials and goes "MAC" this...  "MAC" that...

If you love MAC colors but would rather not buy them, there are a lot of dupe videos around telling you where to get cheap drugstore alternatives - or drop the lemming you have for a particular color which you might already own a dupe for. Most of the videos are aimed at the an American audience with access to brands like Cover Girl and Wet n Wild and not other brands you have access to necessarily, so if you're located in other parts of the world, keep that in mind when you watch and just note to yourself to explore your local brands and drugstores more!
