A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts. Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someone's come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist .
Summer's Crossing takes place right after the events in Iron Queen and it was good. I love the fact that it's told from the mischievous Puck's point of view and we get to see yet another side to Robin Goodfellow.
This novella is all about Ash and Puck on a journey together due to some deal Ash made with Leananside in Iron Queen. We see a little more of the workings between Puck and Ash and it made me think of what their friendship once could have been. I'm not going to lie, you can't help but feel for Puck in this one. Let's not forget he is the one that lost the girl and the girl is his best friend.
Summer's Crossing was a nice, easy read that is made up of the characters we love and hate. It has mischievous adventures, righting wrongs and is just the beginning of the journey. Next up is the Iron Knight.
