Au before the books. Ash and Puck don't know each other yet.
Ash, for some reason, is held captive in the Summer court. Maybe because there's a war and he was taken in battle. So now Oberon wants information out him. Ash of course, doesn't give anything. He won't say a single word.
So Oberon changes tactics, and sends Puck to the cells. Not to simply talk, he locks Puck in a cell next to Ash. Maybe even hurts him before, so Puck can tell the truth; Oberon did this to him.
Ash can't see Puck, and so can't connect the dots tbat the guy talking to him is Oberon's jester.
And so begins a slow building friendship, where Puck doea succeed in getting Ash to talk. Nothing useful (yet), but he's getting more than anyone else so far.
Puck getting dragged out of the cell every now and then for 'interrogation', aka checking in. But gotta be believable right? So better beat him up a bit, too.
Imagine the bonding. The conflicting feelings from Puck when he begins to actually like Ash. The betrayal when Ash learns who Puck is. The redemption and rebuilding of friendship...
My brain has been going haywire with ideas. I want to write a drabble about how I think sleeping with the boys would be. I have another where Puck from Iron fey is secretly mephisto. Lastly, I have one in my drafts about Sylus creating a museum just for mc. Sadly I have to be an adult and pay bills.
Something self-indulgent that I took a break from Artfight to do 😅 The idea wouldn’t give me peace, so here’s a rework of Puck’s design that I hope fits within the scope of Dungeon Meshi 🙏🏼

Thinking of Ariella learning to dream walk after her death. And she is alone all these years, so she goes to Puck and Ash's dreams. They have nightmares all the time, but at least she can be with them. Reliving get death over and over again, just to get a break from the loneliness.
Then Ash learns how to freeze everything out so he stops dreaming, and she loses him again.
Does Puck ever stop?

Your tag about Ethan seeing Puck for who he really is made me think of some situations lol. Just tiny Ethan keeps calling Puck out for being weird looking and just that he's like [insert fey character from whatever he watches here] . And Puck is just hahah yeah kids right so weird (stfu you stupid child) anyway-
I just think that it would've been really great if Meghan and Ash had no sexual/romantic tension at first. Or maybe tension in subtones sure, but just no feelings or any plans to get together. Idk, I just like the idea of them finally being alone and going through all the shit they're going through, and caring for each other because of it. Without the underlying oh no we can never be together thing, or she reminds me of my dead girlfriend thing or something.
I just feel their bond would've been way stronger like that. And then somewhere in part 2 they fall in love.
Also just have Puck not be in love with Meghan at all. Would've let a lot more room for them being really close and just feels like that. Without the weird possive nice guy behavior from Puck, and without Meghan needing to constantly try to figure out if she likes him or not. Just 100% devoted to each other.
And Puck still very much being protective of her, and not being happy about this development with Ash because ehm yeah he wants to kill me also he's Mab's son and this isn't gonna end well for you.
Oh and then we can also spend book 4 working more through Puck and Ariella's stuff, rather than him being jealous a lot.
