Initiate Summer Project
So, it's high time that I work on something fun. There's really not much to do in the summer, outside of my job and video games I've got quite a bit of down time. So I thought: Why not make something cool?
Thus begins my summer programming project.
What is it?
I plan on creating a platform game for Android phones. Nothing too special, but I feel that it would be a fun experience. I will only create an engine for platform games of course, because I suck at level design. So I'll probably go to my friends make them create levels for me :).
When do I expect to finish this project?
Probably not anytime soon. I expect to finish the engine in about 2 weeks or so, but I expect to publish the application sometime in October. Hopefully it'll be awesome and totally worth it.
Will Users be able to create/publish levels?
Hopefully! I plan on creating map creation tools for both the Android and for Personal Computers. When this is complete, I'll setup a server or something and allow for users to upload their work, and for people to download other people's creations. But don't expect something like this till around next year.
