...Because I prefer listening to albums, individual songs I like tend to get overlooked; so I've been adding some of the shorter EPs and singles to individual playlists either for that artist or for the specific vibe I want them to be a part of.

For example, before A Gradual Decline in Morale released, all of Kim Dracula's music was released as separate singles. Playlists made by other people tend to contain other music I'm not interested in, and are often personal playlists the person just didn't bother making private. Because of that, and because I did not want to queue each song individually or listen to songs on the artist page based on popularity (which often include duplicates of certain songs, and you can't choose which song to start on) ... Making a playlist is the best option.

ANOTHER great example of an exceptional case is when I want to combine certain artists who all have relatively small discographies. Like Kim Dracula had been, certain artists only have singles and short EPs released, and Spotify is very unfriendly to playing those on mobile. On desktop, you can just click it on the artist profile and it'll keep going. Mobile is different. And that's where I primarily listen.

Some artists have albums, but they're short enough that I can't listen to them while driving somewhere without it looping back to the beginning before I'm at my destination. And that simply won't do. So, it's nice to have a few with the same vibe all put together in one room and have a playlist with enough room to get there and even have extra for traffic backups.

Even in that type of playlist, I tend to listen to it in order. But I am slightly more likely to shuffle a playlist than I am to shuffle an album. Probably.

Mix of Mazie, Melanie Martinez, Lola Blanc, and GIRLI - I was in a very specific mood that day. I later made a "Just GIRLI" playlist because that's whose music I was clicking on that playlist for the most.

I should make a playlist for Pussy Riot sometime. I don't have one for them yet.
