no i do not; and i'd say it's actually pretty important to my process to stew alone in it for ages lmao. maybe it's my issues with authority. the idea of waiting for someone's feedback on personal work i'm not getting paid for makes me itchy.

i usually do one last spelling/grammar pass over a chapter before posting, but forget a good chunk of the time lmao.

hmmmm if you count Hays i'm collabbing all the time lmao...but i rarely have a choice in the matter. an external writer...i think i just don't work well with others. maybe i'm a bit of a control freak in that regard. i think the conversations with you and F during TDD/standard deviation were the closest i have and will come. y'all were my sounding boards and muses in the best way :) i think it worked bc i had full creative control at the end of the day. no pressure to make something work if it wasn't, or to have to wait on another person's delivery to advance my own.

it's part of why i do requests the way i do; save for the initial message, i don't take any input from the requestee beyond that lmao.

you've found another x reader! alas, it is the 1 that nobody cares about lmfao. started around the time my "cleon the thirst" tag was in full swing. i had been bingeing the latest season of Foundation and was back in Lee Pace hell.

reader gets sent to the heart of Trantor as a 2nd Foundation spy, sometime between seasons 2 and 3. they end up getting into deep water with Empire. specifically Brother Day, obviously. i had all this surrounding lore built up around the Second Foundation, political intrigue was in the cards regarding *why* Foundation felt the need to implant a spy on Empire ground, and there was a fair bit of Hari being a right bastard and Gaal being incomprehensible.

Gaal is kind of an asshole in this 1. 1 of the things i love about Foundation is that it can't decide if it ascribes to the Great Man theory or not. on top of that, it pretty well exemplifies how, when you're looking at history and empire from an overarching, fate-of-humanity standpoint - that is, when you're functionally immortal, and connection is twisted - you fail the individual over and over again. to a degree, it's Gaal's job to be okay with this. but watching Dawn deal with this in the last season really drove home some interesting thoughts. to Dawn, she's everything. to Gaal, he's just the final Empire - she cares in the way a goddess cares for one supplicant out of a thousand.

anyway. yeah. reader is the captain of the Fuck Gaal Dornick train, for reasons both earned and not. lmao

lol. this is a fun 1.

awhile back i got sucked into a Hannibal AU, by which i mean i recast the major roles of Hannibal with House characters...yeah. i stuck House in Will's spot, Wilson in Hannibal's, and Cuddy does a good Jack; completely redid the backstories of every1, started plotting new bad guys, gave Wilson his own serial killer MO and origin story...a super fun fic, but very high-concept, and the gritty, depressing, noir introspection is difficult to maintain. so i only go back and pick at it in small bursts these days but hope to have more time to dedicate to it this year. "girl whatever" is the PDF export of it that i sent to a friend.

Wilson gets called in to Quantico to basically be House's handler.

i redid the 1st case, then was on my way to coming up with a second background case for these guys to start battling their relationship around. i made Tritter a nosy crime scene reporter and set the ducklings up to be the lab techs lmao.

House hates Wilson's guts.

this just in: local serial killer makes gooey eyes at gay crime scene profiler. (House has a service dog in this one whose name is Roach; Roach is there because the vicodin isn't.)

after this point it gets really fun. they go chase the guy without backup. Wilson has Hannibal's Oh Shit He Looks Pretty Covered In Blood moment. House has a breakdown. nobody's happy.

so....so many. many of them not even people at all. i've described it as "aspec in the aplatonic sense" because my feelings so constantly blur between sexual and romantic even with friends that if i'm in any way close to some1, i can usually imagine being in a romantic relationship with them and being totally fulfilled. so if i vibe with some1, odds are attractions in the mix in several forms lol. it's actually really rare for me to end up with long-term friends that i can definitively say there's no physical or emotional attraction to, even tho i "turn off" those feelings/ignore them because i know they aren't relevant to our relationship, if that makes any sense.

🌈 - What inspired you to write [choice of fic]?

a certain 'lotl requested a billfiddlesford fic the last time requests were open. and i think you, of all people, know damn well what kept the inspiration going. but let's do a rundown for the uninitiated:

i started triple-dog dare sort of on a whim, with little idea how far i wanted to go with it or where, beyond a couple vague sex scenes, it would take me.

the incorrigible subspace anon hopped in my inbox, then my DMs around the same time, leading to a fast-track friendship that i love and cherish, and she and our other friend F then proceeded to workshop this fic, chase me around about it, and essentially turn it into the monster it became because they cannot help indulging my every whim and actively make me worse. /loving

other friends were definitely in the mix too, but with these 2 it's definitely a You Know Exactly What the Fuck You Did situation.

however, i do have some insider tidbits that i don't think we've ever discussed, which are fun:

nobody, not even my closest friends, knew about the (original) endgame or Fidds's dastardly plot, besides my spouse, who is the only innocent bystander in this mix lmao.

i came to the idea sort of early on. i think by the end of writing chapter 2, i had already latched onto the whole "enchanted rune rope" thing, hence me being able to work in offhanded references to it so early on.

that being said, the lag time between chapter 2 and the eventual endgame was not supposed to go on for as many chapters as it did, and did so in part due to the interference of my friends lmao

as far as other inspirations go, i read a Lot of suspense novels/thrillers, so that played a part; so did my everlasting obsession with quantum physics; also a hefty dose of psych and spirituality nonsense that's just ambient in my waking life.

i had to actively stop myself from going on for like 50k more words with this 1, solely due to having other projects i wanted done. to date only 1 other person besides my spouse knows what the final endgame was supposed to be, and i'm keeping it close to the vest in case i decide to return to it in the new year, but can't promise anything yet ;)
