If it's not intrusif on my part, can i know more about girl whatever? It spiked my interested so hard-
not intrusive at all :) if you're just here tag-browsing, "girl whatever" is my dumbass title for a draft which is a recast of Hannibal but using House characters lol. Wilson plays the part of Hannibal, and House is Will. aside from the snippets i've shared already, here's a few more tidbits about it:
i hadn't decided on whether i was keeping the cannibalism aspect. it feels kind of central to the premise but due to my indecision i haven't gotten as far as i'd like.
all the murder cases are completely redone; there's certainly some imagery and pacing taken from the first case of the show but i wanted to go from scratch as much as possible instead of just completely retreading Hannibal's plotline.
tw for the expected gore and bloodshed here; Wilson's "oh shit" moment:
Wilson's MO/triggers aren't the same as Hannibal's. i haven't finalized all the details yet but it's certainly something to do with domestic life, and its disruption. he's got an idealized view of The Family Unit. something to do with heteronormativity, something to do with Danny.
of course, like Hannibal he's not above straying outside his MO for artistic satisfaction. 1 of the things i like about Lecter as a character is that he straddles the line between organized and disorganized killers (per BAU definitions), but not in a way that feels unbelievable or impossible to profile. Wilson will kill to manipulate as easily as he will to maintain his own stability.
more about House in this fic:
1 of the things that usually sustains me when writing House is that there's this undercurrent of humor to the whole thing - the show is kind of a sitcom, really, it's a backdrop against which many quips are made. shifting the tone to Hannibal's more dreary, interior pacing is difficult. but that doesn't stop House from getting in horny thoughts about Cuddy.
yeah, he's basically (supposed to be) sidelined at Quantico due to disability + past drug abuse. this is kinda how i've supplanted Jack's exploitation of Will with something sus on Cuddy's end.
he can't shake the sense that the killer's hanging on somehow, given David died on the scene. this is the main anchor for his and Wilson's early relationship: he's trying to exorcise a ghost. in the classroom, it's easy. the cases are closed. class ends, and he puts the killer down. this is...different.
House is interesting to Wilson. Wilson is interesting to House. in a world where not much else is surprising, or unusual, where they're both the smartest guy in the room - they're magnetized.
looking back now after some time away from this draft, i think 1 of the most interesting things about it was envisioning a canon where House and Wilson met later in life - post the infarction, where House never had that memory of a wide-eyed boy wonder. i think that without each other to fall back on as foils throughout young adulthood, divorce, and calamity, they kind of clash hard in a very interesting way once they do meet.
man, i want to revisit this draft again quite badly now! thanks for loving it. i kinda wasn't sure if any1 would want this besides me lmfaooo. <33
