Ok yeah I'm here with my headcanons and stuff because why are you all sleeping on the second generation of Ayodhya cousins?!?! Like damn people get up

Also this is part 1 and will be more focused on the early times and their relationships with their aunts and uncles

BIRTH ORDER:

Luv Kush (twins) → the oldest

Subahu → born 5 months after Luv Kush

Taksh → within a year after Luv Kush and Subahu were born

Angad and Shatrughati → 2 years after Subahu was born, they are both of similar age. Having a difference of only two months between their births

Chandraketu → only a year apart from Angad

Pushkal → exactly 6 months from after Chandraketu was born making him the youngest of the bunch

Now for the headcanons and for less confusion I am putting who is who's kid because I myself forgot the names sometimes 😭😭

Luv and Kush – sons of Ram and Sita

— They are the avatars of Bala and Utsaha (LakahmiNarayan's actual kids and my dearies)

Luv is Bala's avatar, Kush is Utsaha's avatar

— Born in Vanvas and weren't present in Ayodhya till they were older so they take more time to become friendly with the other cousins

— looks like the perfect mixture of their parents with skin colour and eyes like of Ram and other facial features of Sita

— Luv is more quite and a believes in punching, while Kush is the over excited younger one who also believes in punching but won't punch you without arguing.

— After they come to Ayodhya, they become the closest to Urmila and Shatrughan.

— Both of them had lot's of trouble to get used ro the palace life .

And when they spent nights awake not feeling well, missing Sita and or unable to sleep Urmila and Shatrughan were the ones other than Ram, who comforted them in an instance with stories and lullabies.

Taksh and Pushkal – sons of Bharat and Mandavi

— Taksh is the most notorious of the bunch. He is the most hyper and mischievous. He loves to question everything and anything.

— Since he had started to talk, he'd everyday crawl up to Ram's lap after the court sessions ends and ask him a ton of questions starting from the moustache of some ministers to why the sun sets.

Ram loves to answers all his questions and is always amazing by how he always comes up with such unique questions.

— Taksh takes his looks from his mother. They look too similar.

While Pushkal looks like his father with chubby cheeks and sharp eyes that he got from Keykeyi.

— Pushkal is the baby of the bunch and gets pampered by everyone for that. He gets everyone's attention but he is quite and just wants to be left alone most of the time.

— Pushkal is the closest to Shrutakirti out of all his uncles and aunties. They both do gardening together and both of them looks to eat sweets.

Angad and Chandraketu – sons of Lakshman and Urmila

— Angad is the carbon copy of his uncle Shatrughan in nature. He loves to dance with Shatrughan.

— But due to being named after Angad the Vanar. His favourite uncle is also Angad. (Shatrughan and Angad both argue over who's Chhota Angad's favourite uncle)

— Angad and Shatrughati even though are born the closest and grew up the most similar in age don't get along.

They are always bickering and fighting with eachother. Only on rare occasions are the seen being friendly and brotherly with eachother.

— Chandraketu is absolutely attached to Urmila. He is always with her whenever she goes and whatever she does.

But he looks like the second Lakshman.

— Chandraketu the biggest rambler. He is always chattering with everyone and anyone. He makes friends in an second.

This is also the reason why he gets along with Dhruv (Angad's son) the most as he's a listening and is always ready to listen the endless rambles.

— Don't tell Angad but Chandraketu is Sumitra's favourite

Subahu and Shatrughati – sons of Shatrughan and Shrutakirti

— Subahu being born the first in the family (because Luv Kush weren't there) was the most pampered one before.

— He took his role as older brother the best and loves to show his authority to his younger brother and cousins.

— Even after Luv Kush came to Ayodhya, Subahu was still the most sought out to by the adults for responsibilities. He is always eager to help out everyone with everything.

— Shatrughati is the most hot tempered one. Sometimes people even compare him with Lakshman. They get along the most because of their similar nature.

— Shatrughati hates being called by his full name and would much rather prefer Shatru.

Which causes a lot of confusion between calling him and calling Shatrughan.

— Angad is the only one who calls him by his full name resulting in most of their arguments.

The rakshasa in Arduin is more fragile than this interpretation of it, but it deals one negative level per natural weapon, so I wanted it to be appropriately beefy for that sort of offensive capacity.]

Rakshasa, Subahu CR 14 LE Outsider (native) This creature looks like an oversized humanoid gibbon with luminous eyes, clawed paws and curling tusks. A faint stench of carrion wafts from the monster’s body.

The subahu are rakshasas that dwell in shadowy places and have an affinity for death and the undead. They form from evil souls who sought to deny others the ability to reincarnate. As such, their very touch sucks the life out of mortal creatures. Worse, once slain, they can rejuvenate their body even if it fully destroyed. Only the recitation of particular prayers on holy soil is capable of permanently slaying such a monster.

The most difficult task in fighting a subahu is determining who it is, and escaping their powerful charms. Most subahu spend most of their lives in humanoid guise. Their mental powers extend to warping the perceptions and attitudes of humanoids, making them view the rakshasa as a trusted friend or loved one, even if they later see it committing monstrous deeds or reveal its true face. Such dupes typically form a barrier between the subahu and any adventurers seeking to kill them. While foes deal with their minions, subahus rain arrows and spells at a distance, saving the joy of their energy draining attacks to finish off weakened enemies.

Subahu often make alliances with undead monsters. They see both undeath and incarnation as a rakshasa as ways to cheat the gods out of a soul. Some subahu promulgate undead influence into the plots of other rakshasas. Their lives are often as decadent and sybaritic as those of rakshasa rajas, but with a decidedly morbid and grotesque aesthetic bent. They tend to take a patient approach to their evil, but do enjoy attention. Many subahu maintain double lives, masquerading as priests of strange cults, guildmasters of thieves or assassins, or other aliases that provide an excuse for their proclivities and ample fodder for their plots.

Subahu is a Rakshasa from the Hindu epic Ramayana. Along with his mother, Tataka, he delighted in tormenting the munis of the jungle with rains of blood.

The legend states that one muni, Vishvamitra, approached the king for help. Two of the king's sons, Lakshmana and Rama (actually an incarnation of Vishnu), accompanied Vishvamitra to the forest, and there Rama killed both Subahu and his mother.

Monster master list.

The earth shook a little as she sat up with a start, eyes darting on all sides. Her breasts danced like great temple bells at the evening hour. Vultures napping on surrounding trees took off in a whoosh. She flung a Terminalia arjuna at the universe, aiming at nothing in particular. A stray elephant rumbled deeper into the tall grasses. Tadaka was in a foul mood. How could there be humans in her forest? Who would dare enter the dark fortress of Tadaka, the invincible? It was not possible. But she was sure she had heard them. There was no doubting her extraordinary sense of hearing. She could pick up a wild boar’s footsteps from miles away. Tadaka stood and let out a war cry. The earth shook again. Her frown turned into a greedy smile. It was time for lunch.

Towering above the tallest of trees, Tadaka could spot three figures making their way into her forest. They were clearly rishis, the older one walking behind while the two younger ones cleared the path ahead. Anger rose from the pit of her stomach and reached her throbbing temples. Spite coursed through her veins, taking her back several years. She hated these rishis who pretended to be the up-holders of dharma. What did they know, but prayers and silly rituals? What did they know of the dilemmas of life and the agony of loss? How could someone who lives in isolation from society be given powers to pass judgement? They lived in forests, but advised the greatest of kings on administration. They claimed to be divine souls, but did not think twice before mouthing the deadliest curses. What ever happened to the virtue of mercy? Oh, but how would they know empathy when they had never been in love? How could anyone be truly enlightened without having loved even once? She had loved. And lost. She knew the answer to life. The answer was that it didn’t matter. Because there was no life left in her anymore. 

Tadaka had been born as the daughter of Suketu, a formidable yaksha known for his trouble-making. He had performed rigorous penance towards Brahma for a powerful son. Anticipating more trouble if the already strong yaksha were granted a son, the Creator had given him a daughter with the strength of a thousand elephants, trusting the intrinsic benevolence of females. Tadaka grew up to be a beautiful maiden who attracted the eyes of several men, well-learned and all-powerful, yet kind and loving. She lived her life to the fullest, enjoying the simple pleasures of life in the forest, talking to animals and making friends with trees. When it was time for her marriage, the power-hungry Suketu gave her hand to Sunda, a demon chief. Tadaka fell madly in love with her husband. He was strong, fearless, handsome and moved about like a dark cloud that holds thunder within. He was struck by her rare combination of great physical strength and a deep emotional sensitivity. They made passionate love and produced two sons - Mareecha and Subahu, who inherited their mother’s power and father’s looks. The family spent their lives in the wilderness, hunting, eating and drinking to their heart’s content. But one fateful day, driven by intoxication, Sunda had damaged the great Sage Agastya’s ashram and earned his wrath. On seeing the demon wreak havoc, the angry sage had burnt him down to ashes. When news of Sunda’s death reached his wife, she was devastated. For the first time in Tadaka’s life, sadness gripped her. Her chest constricted, she could not breathe. The happy times she had spent with Sunda flashed in front of her eyes. Every nook of the forest brought back a memory. Every bird wailed a funeral song. Every creeper reminded her of his embrace. Tadaka was angry. And for the first time, she realized the full extent of her powers. She wanted to harm the man who had done this to her. Who had left her sons fatherless. She wanted to tear his limbs and toss them to the vultures. Tadaka wanted revenge. She remembered running. Running like the wind towards her villain and watching her sons run ahead of her. She remembered feeling proud of her sons for a fleeting moment, before she saw them disfigure and turn into ugly monsters in front of her eyes. The sage must have cursed them. She lunged forward with greater vigour and met his second curse half-way. 

“You will lose all your beauty, you yakshii! You will turn a man-eater, with your form contorted, face distorted and body monstrous”, he said.
