anyways fun fact, Louis Comfort Tiffany of Tiffany lamp fame, those pretty stained glass lamps, is not the same Tiffany as Tiffany and co Tiffany. and he's actually a big deal in the stained glass world bc he invented the method that most makers use today. Prior to him the only way to make stained glass stuff was to use lead came(sic). which is a bar of H or U shaped lead which needs to be cut with a saw to use. (this method is still used for things that will need to stand up to a lot of stress like very large pieces or exterior windows) Nowadays we use copper foil that is wrapped around the edges of the glass, smoothed over, and then all the pieces are soldered together. this is a big and important change bc it makes the process substantially cheeper and easier and allows for those 3d shapes like you see in the titular Tiffany lamps.
