How to use Passe Compose With Avoir Masterpost
How to use passe compose with avoir.
Passe Compose is ued to describe events that took place in the past.
First let's review the conjugations for avoir
Je- j'ai
Tu- as
Il/elle- a
Nous – avons
Vous- avez
Ils/elles- ont
The conjugations are the auxiliary verb
The formula for passe compose is
SUBJECT + (NE/N')+ AUXILIARY VERB + (PAS) + PAST PARTICIPLE
Subject: The person or thing doing the verb
Ex- Ils, Elles, Mes amis, je etc.
Auxiliary Verb- Is the conjugation
Ex- a, ont, as
Past particle- Is the verb when it is turned into past tense.
Er verbs- Take off the "er" and add é
Re verbs- Take off the "re" and add u
Ir verbs- Take off the "r"
For example- Manger - Mangé
However some verbs are irregular such as:
