To Dean, Monday mornings have always been the same: classes start too early and students want to be there even less than he does.
Until Castiel Fucking Novak joins his history class and now, Dean doesn't know what to expect.

Excerpt:
āAll right you savages, settle down.ā Dean waves his hands in a sitting motion. āI know Mondayās mean shit to college students and I appreciate your attendance but Iām gonna need all of you to shut the fuck up.ā He looks up at his students. āPlease.ā
Fucking Mondays. Dean hates them. College kids and Mondays were never meant to mix, and heās pissed he has to teach a course to these fucking psychos, and on a Monday morning no less. Itās like the time slot from hell. Heās gonna have to sweet talk his boss before the semester ends to make sure he doesn't pull the short straw again. Because, fuck this shit.
Heād much rather still be naked and in bed withā
The door at the top of the room slams open and pulls Dean from his thoughts. His eyes narrow at the latecomer descending the stairs of his classroom like he owns the fucking place.
Castiel fucking Novak.
Heās sauntering to the open seat in front of Deanās deskāfucking sauntering, this guyāand he looks Dean up and down as he passes, a slow smirk growing on his face.
āHello, Dean,ā he murmurs before he sits and Dean regrets ever telling his classes to call him by his first name. The first time Castiel fucking Novak greeted him that way, all the blood Dean needed in his brain was suddenly in his dick. He had to hide behind his desk and show a documentary on conspiracies because there was no way heād be able to stand in front of his class and teach. Thank fuck this history class was a pre-req, anyway. None of these kids were taking it seriously.
He spent the next hour and a half trying to ignore his hard on and Novakās eyes that were on him every time he dared to look. By the end of the period, it had become a game to see who would look away first. Dean always lost.

Dean is a thief with a big heart
I suck at summaries
What else is new
A very original fic where thief Dean takes pitty on poor college student Castiel and decides to make his life a little easier. Itās so cute and has a cute sequel too (*squeals*)! Enjoy!
Prompt- Dean sleep talks but instead of saying cute things his ramblings are fucking terrifying (ex: "why is the man staring at us?" "there is blood everywhere" etc.) Cas has probably lost 10 years of his life from this. Cute fluffy comedy.
(Iām sorry this took SO long! Work, life, yadda yadda yadda. ;) Here you go, thank you for the prompt!)
No roommate is perfect. Castiel knows this.
Every relationship requires reaching compromises and learning boundaries, and itās easier for things for become strained when two people are encroaching on each otherās living space. And squeezing two complete strangers into a dorm room the size of a shoebox and expecting them to get along for a year? Well, in his opinion, itās a miracle that the number of homicides on college campuses isnāt higher, especially when adolescent hormones, poor impulse control, and underdeveloped frontal lobes are factored into the equation.
So, all things considered, Castiel feels pretty lucky to have Dean as his roommate.
Sure, Dean can be loud and boisterous, and he listens to music too loudly, but it doesnāt bother Castiel too much after the first few weeks. Deanās questionable ātastesā in music actually start to grow on him, despite his better judgment. Heās even started picking up words to some of the songs, because Dean has a habit of belting out a lyric and then pointing dramatically at Castiel to sing the next verse, and Castiel had gotten tired of the disappointed look on Deanās face whenever he didnāt know the words, so maybe he had looked up some of the lyrics between his classes.
But it definitely goes both ways, because Dean can pretend he doesnāt like Castielās soft jazz or documentaries or fiber-heavy cereal brands, but Castiel hasnāt been fooled since the day he walked into their room and found Dean hunched over his laptop, eyes suspiciously red, transfixed by Castielās copy ofĀ March of the Penguins. Before he could even say a word, Dean had slammed the laptop shut, face flushing red, and snapped, āShut up, Cas! Some of the eggs didnāt hatch! StopĀ laughing, Cas!ā
And yes, Dean can be a little over-the-top about cleaning (before rooming with Dean, Castiel wouldāve thought there could never be such a thing as too clean, but heās learned differently), but heās learned to live with it.
For example, when Castiel comes back from class and spots Dean on his hands and knees scrubbing the baseboards, the smell of Lysol hitting him like a brick to the face, heās learned that Dean needs space, so he goes to the library for a few hours until Deanās worked off whatever stress or anger heās been keeping bottled up. Then he comes back, drags Dean away from wiping out the inside of their desk drawers, and takes him to The Roadhouse for a burger. If Dean decides to confide in him, good; but if not, he can still see the tension easing out of Deanās shoulders as they sit in the familiar atmosphere, talking about classes, talking about everything and nothing, knees barely brushing under the table.
And, in an effort to do his part, Castiel has started being more mindful about picking up after himself and not leaving his damp towels on the floor. He even tries to remember to make his bed in the mornings, although he forgets more often than not in his haste to get ready for class (not that it really matters because itāll be made when he comes back, anyways).
And okay, Dean is lively and social and charismatic, and thereās always strange people in their dorm room, but Dean always make a point to introduce Castiel to everyone and try to include Castiel in the conversations, even if he doesnāt have much to contribute. Most of Deanās friends are tolerable, and Castiel finds himself genuinely liking a few of them, such as Charlie and Benny, and even participating in political debates or Mario Kart games. And on the days that Castiel has a test or a paper due the next day, Dean will unceremoniously kick everyone out without Castiel even having to ask, good-naturedly yelling at everyone to āget lost, moochers, Cas has an Abnormal Psych test tomorrow and heās gonna kick it in the ass!ā.
And fine, Dean does party quite a bit on the weekends (or on the random Tuesday) and comes back in the middle of the night, inevitably waking up Castiel no matter how quiet he tries to be. But Castiel canāt even hold it against him, because when he tucks Deanās drunk ass into bed and brings him a glass of water and some ibuprofen, Dean gives him the most profoundly grateful look that itās almost humbling. Castiel doesnāt deserve a look like that for doing such a simple thing, a thing that any decent roommate would do.
Dean never says anything the next morning after these occurrences, but Castiel knows that Dean remembers, because Dean will find ways to make it up to him for the next week ā just small things, like having coffee ready for him before his classes, or stocking up on Castielās favorite brand of peanut butter.
So no, Dean isnāt the perfect roommate, but Castiel doesnāt mind. He knows heās not perfect either. But they have a good system, and they get along pretty well most of the time. Thereās still some things that Castiel doesnāt understand ā like why Dean insists that heās dumb even though heās excelling in his engineering classes ā and they still have arguments, sometimes petty and sometimes not, but Castiel canāt imagine being roommates with anyone except Dean.
Although honestly, Dean hasnāt been just āa roommateā for a long time now. Castiel considers the term ābest friendā to be much more fitting. Castiel lives with his best friend, and he thinks this makes him very lucky.
Summary:Ā Dean Winchester dropped his little brother Sam off for his freshman year of college, then dropped out of his life completely. Now, nearly a year later, Dean's gotten himself together and is back in Lawrence to make things right with his brother. As he works to build his life in Kansas, Dean finds himself repeatedly crossing paths with Castiel Milton. Maybe the universe is trying to tell him something at a time when he's actually ready to listen.
Comments: 9/10. This is cute and fluffy and I love this. Dean recovers from being a violent alcoholic, he goes to therapy and goes to meet his brother. They make up and Dean moves in with Sam, where he makes friends with Charlie and Kevin, Samās college friends. Dean then meets Castiel, who gives him his number to offer gardening advice. But you guessed it, they fall in love and everything is awesome. College AU but Dean isnāt a college student.
I have an idea for an AU fic, but it's not one of your squares (but if you went with a ship like Cockles or Destiel, maybe you could incorporate it?). Firefighter!Dean has to come save, maybe, Author!Cas from a tree he climbed chasing his cat, who gets out of the tree by himself just fine, don't you know, leaving Cas stuck up the tree by himself, embarrassed as all hell. I've had this idea for a while, but I wouldn't know where to start writing ships. You do them so well, though!
LMAO this is really cute and funny. I donāt have author!cas though but maybe I could make it college student!cas if you donāt mind? I got author Misha but I donāt know why I feel this fits Cas and Destiel better.

Summery:Ā Dean is too late with applying for a class at college and tries to get a place by directly contacting the lecturer via email. A typo in the mail address leads to him contacting another student instead.
Castiel is an English major at KU and should have gotten his mail account changed in order to not get spammed with work mails for his father, who unfortunately teaches at the same department. In the end, he's glad he didn't
This was a kind of different take on theĀ āwrong-numberā type fics. This was an e-mail thing, but it still fit that description to begin with, but it diverges pretty soon after the exposition. I really enjoyed them meeting so early into the fic. Normally these types of stories have a lot of angsty build-up to there first meeting, but this fic had none of that. It didnāt even have the usualĀ āis this person cat-fishing me?ā crisis, since they obviously had no reason to lie, and established early on that they both attended KU. Overall, I really enjoyed this fic, though I wish it was slightly longer.
If you like this fic, go check out the author on AO3 and give them kudos/ kind comments!
Congratulations to your Graduation, @ordered---chaos!
Itās not⦠forbidden, per se.
It would just be⦠highly unusual.
And anyway, Cas never talked about anything long-term or moving in with Dean after graduation or stuff like that.
Angels and humans just didnāt stay together after college. Everyone knew that. Too different, most would say. Not only because they have wings and are slightly stronger, but because they like things neater and cleaner than humans, a quiet environment.
Dean is ready to call bullshit on that. They were roommates (who occasionally fooled around, he reminds himself again, thatās all it was) for two years until his graduation last week.
Yeah, and maybe, heās moved into an apartment with a big balcony and open spaces and other stuff angels love, but Cas hasnāt even come to check it out yet, so who cares.
Heās here because Cas is his friend, heāll watch him graduate, and then theyāll go their separate ways.
Hell, itās not like anyone else is going to be there for him. His family all but disowned him because he had the audacity to switch from theology to medicine. Angelic and human.
Small wonder he doesnāt want to be saddled with the stupid human and his small engineering degree.
Dean swallows and enters the hall.
Way more decorations than last week. Typical. Everything needs to be more special for angels. Most of them are just dicks with wings, really.
And Dean definitely doesnāt want wings, thank you very much. Heās very comfortable walking and driving. No flight to the death for him.
True, Cas has offered to take him flying a few times. He declined. Not that much because of the flying thing (although donāt get him wrong, that was definitely a factor) but because... well. It would only have made things awkward to have been carried around by Cas Superman-and-Lois-Lane-style.
āDean!ā
Before he even has time to look for Cas, his an- his friend his strolling towards him, robe billowing, tie askew, wings wide and puffy.
Good heās never looked more beautiful.
āYou came!ā
His eyes look even bluer than usual. Or maybe itās just that Dean hasnāt seen him in a few days.
God, what is he going to do in the next weeks? Months? Years?
āOf course. Thatās what friends are forā.
His wings droop slightly. Dean frowns. Heās come to know Cas pretty well, and that dip usually means heās unhappy.
āHey, is everything...ā
āDean! How nice of you to come!ā
And thereās Casā annoying friend Balthazar. Perfect. Dean rolls his eyes.
Itās not that he dislikes him. Okay, he does.
But mostly because he keeps hitting on Deanās ā
On Cas. And Cas is not interested. At least Dean doesnāt think so.
Itās not like they ever talked about it, like they ever talked about the nights they spent together or that time he helped Cas groom his wings...
āBalthazarā.
Maybe theyāll end up together after all. Balthazarās going to be a doctor too. Maybe theyāll be the hot shot couple everyone envies.
āBig day!ā
Balthazar grins, his wings flapping up and down. Dean resists the urge to roll his eyes again. Never one for holding back.
āI betā.
āHowās your new place? Cassie tells me he hasnāt been over yetā.
Cas flinches. His wings droop lower. Again.
Did Dean say anything during his own graduation? Did he hurt Cas without noticing? Thereās no reason for him not to come over.
āI wonāt spoil his surprise thenā he answers.
Casā eyes widen.
āYou want me to visit you?ā
āYes, Cas. Matter of fact, it would have been nice if you just picked up your phone once in a while wo I could tell you Iāve been expecting you. Graduation or not, weāre friendsā he snaps, āIn case you havenāt noticed.ā
That was definitely the wrong thing to say. Cas still looks sad.
He doesnāt understand.
Balthazar sighs dramatically. One of his wings whacks Dean.
āHey!ā
āOh, so you do feel like a normal human being. Just wanted to check.ā
āBalthazar āā
A cackling voice over the speaker informs them that the ceremony is about to start.
āThatās itā Balthazar decides and grabs Casā arm.
āWeāre not going to be late. And afterwards...ā he glares at Dean āweāll find you again. Someone needs to make you two see senseā.
He drags Cas away. Dean goes looking for a place to sit down, as confused as he can be.
Why is Cas looking so sad on his graduation day? True, Dean was a little bummed too, but he had a reason. The same thatās about to get his diploma.
He still cheers for his friend, of course. Heās not a dick.
He fears the worst when Balthazar literally has to drag Cas back to him, however.
āSoā Balthazar says, crossing his arms in front of his chest, āare you going to ask or should I?ā
āWhat āā Dean begins at the same time Cas hisses, āThereās nothing ā ā
āOh, nothing? How nice.ā He turns to Dean.
āDid you know that Cas asking you to fly with him meant him proposing you move in together, eventually buy a house with a picket fence and adopt several beautiful children?ā
āBalthazar!ā
āWhat?ā Dean asks.
āCas, is that true?ā
Cas shuffles his feet. His wings droop even lower than before.
āI know itās not... I know people expect us to...ā he mutters.
Dean sighs.
āCas, you idiot. You know I am scared of flying. Of course I would have said yes ā ā
Casā meets his eyes again, wings spreading wide in astonishment.
āIāll leave you to it, gentlemanā.
Neither of them hears Balthazar.
A short time later, Dean finds that flying isnāt that scary when heās being kissed by his boyfriend.
Do It For A DollarĀ (au / 1.5k words / college student!cas / actor!dean)
Prompt 18 from my ā30 Destiel Promptsā for @breathingdestiel
ao3 link
The warm heat of the New York summer clings to Castiel as he walks along to his favourite coffee shop. (Itās his favourite for one simple reason - itās cheap and heās a broke college student.)
Despite the air conditioning of the shop welcoming him in when he arrives, Castiel decides to take a seat under the awning outside. As a student, struggling to pay for college, and all the other costs that come with simply being alive, Castiel has to find entertainment in the smaller things in life. One such entertainment is buying a coffee and sitting, just watching people go by.Ā
Itās a beautiful day outside so thereās plenty of people for Castiel to flit his eyes over as they walk past, going about their days. Heāll likely never see them again and that thought alone fascinates him immensely. The idea that your life can seem so huge and overwhelming and yet thereās seven billion of them walking around the planet at this moment. Seven billion perspectives.Ā
Castielās eyes follow a bobbing balloon, clutched in the hand of a small child babbling to his mother. As the balloon disappears out of eye shot, Castielās focus is snapped to what looks like a couple of trailers pulling up and some guys with cameras jumping out. It looks as though theyāre filming something across the street.Ā
That was something Castiel had found it odd getting used to about living in New York. There was always some movie or show being filmed around the city. If he didnāt see it himself, he always heard about it. Heās at college to study film after all.Ā
He squints against the beating sun, to try to get a better look. People watching is sure to get a whole lot better if the people he is watching are celebrities.Ā
A couple of minutes pass and Castiel is starting to lose hope that heās actually going to see anything before he leaves. Heās just about to get up from his seat when he chances a glance across the street again.Ā
It seems something must be starting as thereās a rather hyper looking man holding a microphone and talking into a camera. The man must be introducing someone as he suddenly holds out an arm to bring someone into shot.Ā
Oh god, itās Dean Winchester! That man is a legend in film and heās only thirty. Castiel had been hoping that theyād study some Deanās movies and performances in his classes. There is so emotion Dean canāt portray with intense accuracy and believability. His latest movie was a heart-wrenching story in which he played a monster hunter who fell in love with his angel best friend, only for them to be ripped away from each other in a scene that left Castiel breathless.Ā
The man with the microphone is now shouting things at people on the street, while Dean seems to just be standing next to him. Castiel canāt quite make out what the man is saying but members of the public seem to be bewildered and are walking away quickly from the mad man - Castiel canāt say he blames them.Ā
Both men suddenly pick up the pace, jogging down the street until they stop abruptly and a microphone gets put in another strangersā face. This person looks confused until they do a double-take and spot Dean. Finally, Castiel thinks, everyone should know who Dean is. The stranger says something that makes Dean throw his head back with a belt of laughter.Ā
Gosh, that man is truly beautiful. Castiel doesnāt imagine theyāll come over to his side of the street and he is definitely much too nervous to pretend to casually cross the street as if he had no idea what is happening there. Instead, he decides that, if Dean is still around after they finish filming whatever this is, heāll pluck up the courage to go over and say hi. (To brag about it in class tomorrow, if nothing else.)
āWould you kiss Dean Winchester for a dollar?!!?ā Castiel hears the hyper manās voice shout to the next unsuspecting member of the public. He snorts to himself. Thereās no doubt, he would do a lot more with Dean for a lot less than a dollar, if given the chance.Ā
Whatever game the two men seem to be playing carries on for a while longer. Castiel sits and watches them film for a while, plans to leave forgotten in favour of watching Dean.Ā
Dean looks like a nice person. When the microphone man shouts at people and even pushes some away, Dean always makes sure to catch them before they leave and give them a hug or handshake. And Castiel canāt help it every time Dean laughs, he lets out a little laugh too, though he covers his mouth so the people enjoying their coffee around him donāt think heās strange.Ā
Eventually, it looks like filming is winding down. The camera guy drops his camera from his shoulder and walks off back to one of the trailers. Now the spotlight is off him, the mad manās energy has left him and heās just taking in quiet tones with Dean. They must be saying goodbye because Dean claps a hand on the guyās shoulder and shakes his hand before heading towards the trailers too.Ā
Castiel drinks the final drops of his coffee and Dean doesnāt return. Figuring heās missed his chance to say hi to Dean (not that heād have worked up the courage anyway), Castiel picks up his things and throws his coffee cup in the trash. At least, he got to see one of his favourite actors in the flesh, not many people can say that. Plus, he couldnāt stay for longer, heād already spent too much on coffee to keep his seat outside, which wasnāt good for his student budget.Ā
Compared to the walk to the coffee shop earlier that day, the weather is now cooler under the setting sun and Castiel relishes the reprieve from the heat. His mind begins to wander to other things, mostly his new short film heās got to work on for school.Ā
Just as heās about to cross at the end of the street, he hears someone shout from behind him.
āWait!āĀ
Castiel frowns and turns to quickly look over his shoulder, though heās not actually expecting the person to be shouting to him.
Only, when his eyes fall onto the source of the voice, they immediately go wide in shock.Ā
Dean Winchester is standing in front of him, green eyes filled with⦠nerves?
āUh,ā Dean says, as if he wasnāt expecting Castiel to actually turn around, āI noticed you watching us film from across the street. And I guess I just wanted to say that you look cute when youāre laughing. You shouldnāt hide it.ā
When Castielās brain finally decides to reboot itself, he replies. āI was only trying to hide it because I didnāt want to look like an idiot.āĀ
āIām sure you could never do that, man.ā Dean says, a small smile creeping at the corner of his mouth.Ā
Castiel blushes and looks down at the pavement.Ā
A comfortable, happy silence falls on them.Ā
But then, Castiel frowns when he sees Dean reach into his back pocket. He tilts his head in confusion.Ā The confusion doesnāt clear when Dean pulls out a dollar.Ā
Castiel gives Dean a questioning look.Ā
Dean clears his throat and holds out the dollar to Castiel. āWould you kiss Dean Winchester for a dollar?ā
Castiel makes an unattractive snort of laughter at Deanās gesture. He places his hand over Deanās and gently pushes it away.Ā
āI donāt need a dollar to want to kiss you, Dean.ā He whispers, finding courage from the kind eyes Dean is showing him. āPlus, itās a little crowded on this street, and people are starting to watch.ā He flicks his eyes around them where some people have started taking their phones out to film Dean Winchester talking to this random guy on the street.Ā
Dean deflates slightly under the attention.Ā
āBut,ā Castiel says and notices Dean brighten up again, āif you wanted to find somewhere more private and, perhaps, put that dollar towards dinner, maybe we could talk a little more about that kiss.āĀ
Deanās smile could rival the beaming summer sun.Ā
*Ā *Ā *
Two years later, Billy Eichner (turns out shouty microphone guy had a name, who knew?) presents them with a gift at their wedding.Ā
Unbeknownst to them until that moment, some of the crew had noticed Dean run after Castiel on the day they met and theyād filmed what they could from afar.Ā
All their guests chuckle when they see Dean try to offer Castiel a dollar to kiss him. Dean groans and hides his face in Castielās neck. Castiel runs a comforting hand down Deanās back.Ā
āIn your defence, it was incredibly adorable.ā Castiel says.Ā
āUghā, Dean groans, āthat doesnāt help, Cas.ā He lifts his head to look at Castiel in the eyes, pouting like a sulking child.
Castiel smiles at his grumpy husband, and places a soothing kiss to his lips.Ā
Yes. He definitely didnāt need a dollar to do that for the rest of his life.Ā

A/N:Ā Hope you enjoyed it Ivana! Sorry it took so long, I had a whole other idea before this but scrapped it because I couldnāt make it work lmao
