Okay, I FINALLY finished it. It’s not perfect of course, as it’s very difficult to pin down characters from books, but you know I am rather satisfied. I always love hearing how other characters see these two, and this painting was based loosely on that. Seeing them just walking down the street discussing a case or something.
I am no master of fashion history, as I’m sure is obvious. McGray’s waistcoat is supposed to be green, so I made it the Campbell tartan, because my family comes from them and I like Adolphus, so he’s my kin now. Also, McGray’s hair is supposed to be speckled with gray so I gave him the start of a witch’s lock because irony. And yyes, that IS Ian’s awful fur coat! I had a lot of fun playing with the contrast between the two, I hope the series gets more popular. I would love to see other people’s interpretations.
Book suggestions/opinions please.
Was wondering if anyone has read The Hourglass Factory, Strings of Murder or A Darker Shade of Magic and whether they would recommend them. Also, if anyone has any general recommendations of books in any sort of genre it'd be very appreciated.
