20. Is there anything about any one of your fics that you have been dying to discuss but haven’t had the chance to?
HI. YOU'RE GONNA REGRET THIS ONE. I'm going to use it to infodump about history things. I love being annoying. Anyways. So. I've realized kind of recently that I didn't do a great job establishing what Nico and Will looked like in my head in Bronco.
Nico first:
So Last Born Son is set in 1886. Men's fashion during this time is interesting, because it definitely differs based on 1) Social class, and 2) Country. I tried to establish Nico as being from wealthy, from the continent, and kinda prissy, (He called Persephone "nouveau riche" in his inner monologue), so I wanted to depict him as a monied young man, with a kind of European flair to the way he dressed. Historian Brent Shannon describes men's fashion at this time as being something in which "bourgeois male consumers reappropriated and transformed formerly “effeminate” or “deviant” male consumer practices and public display via clothing and accessories into normative masculine behavior." So I'd think he's very much a full Fancy Boy, and would dress similar to this:
(pulled from The Gentleman's Magazine of Fashion and Costumes de Paris et Londres)
It differs a bit in that American styles at the time were a bit more understated with patterns and colors and such - not much though. Hair is another interesting aspect here. Men of Nico's standing would oftentimes wear their hair shorter and either styled with a side part or slicked back completely. I think his would look most like Alexandre-Marie Colin's Portrait of Théodore Gericault:
Now Will:
So, Will is a stagecoach bandit at the end of what's more or less the "golden age" of stagecoach bandits. (The train takes over hauling cargo, stagecoaches kind of go away by the turn of the century.) They way he dresses, is going to pay fuck all attention to whatever going on in society. It's going to be practical - he needs to be able to 1)Keep from getting sunburned, 2) stay warm at night, 3) stay comfortable for a long amount of time on his horse and 4) Have his weapons and their parts accessible, I think, based on that, he'd dress something like this:
(This is a tintype of Billy The Kid.)
The biggest difference is going to be his hair. He's got a hat, but he's tall, he's hunched over a horse a lot, and he's not coming into upstanding towns with barbers all the time. I think Will's hair would be long. Like, brushing his shoulders long. He's taking care of it and brushing it and everything, but that's why I had Frank say Will needed to get it cut in Running Through the Thicket.
i did go into a different doc to find an instance of perfect but the important part is i did find one <3
Nico was sure the man didn’t sleep, and if he did, it was fully-dressed in a coffin that he rose out of like a vampire, leaving his expensive suits perfectly un-wrinkled.
and hand <3
“Actually, are you at your computer?” Will asked. “I have something I want you to look up.” He lifted his left hand and squinted down at the few words he’d scribbled, the ink already starting to smear. “Do you ever look at something you’ve written and go, what the fuck is that supposed to say?”

i had a feeling this was going to come up before i could write anything else lmao
In a few minutes, Ellis was snoring in his ear, a dead weight against his back, and Will couldn’t stop thinking about what it would be like to kiss his best friend.
29. how easy is it for you to come up with titles?
depends! i almost exclusively use song lyrics as titles now bc that has made my life a whole lot easier, and 99% of the time i will not reuse a song (yes this gets trickier and trickier the closer i get to. 400 fics.) so sometimes i'll be in the car listening to something and go "oh that's a good title lyric" and hope i remember it when im no longer driving. or sometimes i'll know i want to use a specific song and narrow down a few options in those lyrics. the solangeloweek server fics channel has a Lot of lyric title options that i put up for vote often enough that i do fear im annoying people lmao but honestly if im having a hard time naming a fic or simply do not want to put the effort into it i'll post something asking for a random fic title without context and i wont lie some of those are my best fics i think based on title alone. definitely memorable!
4. a story idea you haven’t written yet
Technically I have started it, but I only have about 100 words; a little thing from Cecil and Lou Ellen's POV regarding Will's mental/physical well-being between the battle of manhattan and the gaea fight
7. your preferred writing fonts
arial ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
18. if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic
I DON'T USUALLY LOL but I found this from the Russian Doll fic
She gives him a long, thoughtful look. Will thinks he can hear the gears turning in her head. A smug grin spreads across her face.
"Yeah, that makes sense. He's exactly your type."
"God- Lou, it's not like that-"
She snickers, but shrugs her shoulders.
"Right, sure. Ignoring the fact you've gone about four shades darker - no, I've not seen him tonight. I don't keep track of my regulars, that's weird. Don't you have his number?"
